Listverse : 10 More Great Robberies

I remember when it happened that most of the public outrage was to do with the treatment of the guard rather than the lost money. I too found the theft of Briggs' scooter somewhat ironic. People often talk as if he was the only robber, but there were several more, including Buster Edwards, who was the subject of the film "Buster" starring Phil Collins and Julie Walters. He ended up hanging himself in a garage in London in the early 90s.

Lovely. I loved the quote at the end of number two, "After all, he's not a tame lion"!

Listverse : 10 Innovative Charities

I like the idea of Modest Needs. So many people end up in dire trouble when a helping hand at one crisis moment would have prevented disaster. Not that they are all not worthy charities.

The people who are their guards now of course. I would have thought that was obvious.

Listverse : 10 Cases of Natural Gender Inequality

My husband totally agrees that my navigational skills are far better than his, and so does my son. I seem to have the ability to detect north just by "feeling" where it is, and I can visualise a map or a plan quite easily. As for best positions, best jobs etc, I really don't think that that indicates superiority in anything but material things.

I read this and thought "I am so glad I am a woman". This shows the natural superiority of women in everything. And yet some seem to think it proves the opposite! Strange... For the record, my navigational skills are superb, better than either my husband or my son.

Listverse : 10 Crimes of Men on Death Row

I do not believe in or support the death penalty, even after reading a list as disturbing and appalling as this. I do believe that when these people meet the awful final judge they will receive their just desserts. In this life, why do we not keep these people in induced medical comas? They would still be alive, but would be in a position to do no harm and with no hope of escape. If it turned out that there had beena miscarriage of justice, they could be revived which is more than you can do for the dead. I know that there would be a high cost to this, but there is a high cost to secure prisons as well - this might actually be less. May God bless and care for all their victims and keep them safe in his arms.

I have two for you: Getting cold gives you the cold and Everyone who is overweight eats like a pig. I can vouch that the second one is false. I was having real trouble with my weight, and when I kept on putting on weight when I was dieting very strictly under medical supervision, iIt was this which triggered the doctor to test my thyroid and it was hardly working at all! They put me on thyroxine and I stopped putting on weight - as simple as that. Still had, and have, a struggle to lose what I put on then though.

I'm a Christian and for me this says it all: "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." (Gandhi) I try to live so that I would not be included as "unlike Christ". (At least so far as any fallible human person can.)

I'm glad they recast with Viggo as Aragorn. In the story he IS supposed to be early middle aged ish in appearance although in years he is much older as befits the heir of Isildur
