All the best,Kala.. I did it one year and it was so much fun. Couldn't do it last as it was my 1st trimester & I didn't have the energy.. This year my 4 month old is about to keep me busy & again devoid of energy,so again a no. Hopefully next year... Have fun. It's quite an experience I must say..

Ahh...Now I really want to read the book and hop on to her blog too...You made me fall in love with the idea of an elusive & anonymous blogger through this piece Akanksha..And ofcourse you took me to the days when I would imagine meeting a man in uniform but that chance is now gone..

Wonderful post...and you are right when you say that people from the northeast will never be accepted in the rest of the country...I have grown up in Shillong too and I have had people asking me if I lived in trees and other bizarre questions when told about my hometown..it angers me but how many flat headed educated people can I enlighten anyways!!

That for sure shouldn't be the reason behind using the father's surname !! :)

I agree...We should either use the surnames of both parents or use none at all. And a woman shouldn't have to change her surname just 'coz she's married !
