Sounds like you've thought of pretty much everything - good for you for considering health insurance. I think other things to consider is how you'll keep socially connected and be sure to get out of the house!

I just have what my work offers - but we have no kids and no real debt, so it's sufficient. If that ever changes, we'll have to up it!

No, I wouldn't - but I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of renting. It can turn out fine - but it can also be a nightmare!
