I totally get the one pot anger issue - mine is those recipes that say "only two ingredients" and it turns out to be a cake mix and pudding (or something like that). For someone like me that doesn't buy processed foods those two ingredients turn into a ton of ingredients. However, I plan on experimenting with your cake mix recipes so I can be fully prepared when those recipes come up.

While I would normally agree with the one use appliance, I think of it this way - two years ago I invested $25 in the air popper and $25 in a huge bag of organic popcorn. For $50, I've ended up with a two year supply of snacks that I can alter as I desire. We've made sweet and savory flavors. It's easily become our evening snack and we don't have to worry about what's in it.
Honestly, what makes you happy is what is important. I just don't like my microwave and I hate burning popcorn. The air popper makes me happy so it was worth every penny I invested.
I will say if you have access to Azure Standard (might just be a western US thing) - they sell huge bags of organic popcorn for so cheap. I think my $25 above is actually more than the real price or maybe I have the size in my head wrong (might be a 50 pound bag but I can't remember).

I do know that some of the organic varieties of microwave popcorn come with no salt but I can't tell you the brands. But I have read that the butter topping is nearly toxic so we use an airpopper for popcorn. They are not very expensive and, for me, easier to use. I'm always afraid of burning the popcorn in the microwave.

Where to start with the comments?
I guess, first, I love this kind of pizza. My mom used to make a "biscuit" crust when I was a kid. And it was the kind we often got at school lunches.
As for the job change - good luck. I know when I got a decent severance package after losing a contract job, it was the best time of my life. I was so free to pursue my passions which eventually led to some good job opportunities. I can't say it was all sunshine and roses because sometimes even the best sounding jobs can turn out to be shiny with no substance. Stay warm and well.

It was rather stressful just reading your post so I can barely imagine how stressful it was in real life. It's okay to neglect the blog and care for those you love. Let us know when he's all better and making you crazy (because that's what they do best).

You can freeze cupcakes that are unfrosted. You can also dry them for crumbs. If those don't appeal to you, try dropping them off at a fire station. Firefighters often love having treats.
I'm thinking I may try to make a vegan version of these because I so badly want a decent treat.

Have you tried an all natural food coloring? They may not be as vibrant as the faux stuff but you may get something fun out of it. We have food allergies so I have to keep up with all the ways to make food like the picture. http://www.amazon.com/India-Tree-Natural-Decorati...

We had heat issues at my work too - not as bad as yours but I can still empathize.
We're lucky to have seen all three Sherlock episodes already and I have to tell you I loved episode 3. It was the best. I wish I could watch it again and again (I won't spoil it for you but tell you that you'll learn who put John under the fire and why).
I loved Supernatural this week (the part about the Guinea pig had me laughing so hard - totally sounds like my son). We loved Lassie being in the show as well. But I find that Supernatural is running out of plots. I'm so sick of this angels and demons story line. I'd rather they go back to the hunting "boring" creature just to have a different plot.

My husband downloads the episodes since we don't have cable so last night we got to see episode #2. I'd love to talk about the first with you. It was a great episode and I'm sad to see they are already talking about the last episode of the season which makes it sound like we're getting 3 again.

Congrats on the new car.
We just finished watching Sherlock (Seasons 1 and 2) and are excited for the new season. It was so good, I'm glad you suggested it. The only problem was there were so few shows. Now we're back to having to find something to fill up the Doctor Who hole.
