Man, I originally really wanted to read Brain on Fire...but then I read Wilde Awake and I just COULD NOT HANDLE being the the main character's head as she slowly got out of control and went a bit crazy. If the book isn't like that let me know, because it sounds super interesting!

Oooh you'll have to let me know what you think of the Mary Bennett book - that's definitely on my wishlist at the moment (for all the same reasons you're interested in reading it). Hopefully you'll get to it soon, if not today!

I'm such a weenie!! ...this list is probably going to end being a list of books I will never, ever, ever touch. Ever. I wish I could handle scary stuff!! *grumble grumble*. Although maybe I'll take a page out of your book and do a Halloween list - but for weenies like me hahahaha

Ok, I am in no way depressed by this - I'm actually really excited! I think pretty much everything you have issues with will be solved entirely with the novellas. Despite them being novellas, when you read them all together they really do read like a novel, and I feel like they're essential to pretty much everything that isn't covered in the first book. Character development and badass assassinage (although just WAIT for CoM!!! There is a freaking epic scene that I can't wait to reread!) are definitely headed your way from here on out. Throne of Glass was by far the weakest book in the series, so since you're willing to try another book, I'm feeling pretty good :) If I didn't think the novellas were so important I'd tell you to read CoM RIGHT AWAY because that book is magic. If you don't like CoM - and I think it unlikely - then this series isn't for you.

It'll be interesting upon a reread to see what I think of Celaena - I am starting with the novellas this go around, but most people's issues with ToG seem to be the Mary Sueishness, so with that in mind I'm wondering if that will change any opinions for me. And I crazy love how vain she is hahaha. I think l was just excited to have a character look great and KNOW it...to an extent that may have biased me lol. In any case, the series only goes up from ToG!

P.s. I actually have your url memorized by now haha...and I still can never remember mine!

YES! I feel like Sunshine got so much flack - particularly from McKinley's fans (and oh my GOD I just read Pegasus and am having flipping MELT. DOWN). I thought it was inventive and still within McKinley's style - it was just a different genre! I would actually really love a sequel to that one. And I am 100% promising that I WILL get to Heyer and Dunnett for sure!

Wow your life sounds crazy! I was about to say I can't imagine completely relocating my life for 5 weeks, but then I realized that I more or less just did that haha. But for real, that sort of flexibility is not something I expect in most other people's careers. I imagine doing a bunch of traveling like that doesn't lend itself to good gardening either. (Or maybe that's just because I am incapable of remembering to get someone to water my plants when I go on a trip so they all die...)

(...it's Elizabeth again)

I have to say that while I have enjoyed the series so far (still haven't read the last book), it definitely hasn't been one of my favourites, and it has a great deal to do with Mal and Alina's relationship. It's just too...UGH all the time haha! It stresses me out man! And I really do ship them together - as much as I super love the rogue character (whose name currently escapes me), Mal and Alina should be together. Just without the drama!

(Also I'm posting this from work and am terrified to hit logout since I don't know why the front desk has this login thingie anyway, so it's Elizabeth from so long and thanks for all the fish haha!)
