How brave of The Girl to share this and a testament to how very strong she is. Please tell her from me that she has to drop that guilt and self-blame. This thinking makes Dick less accountable, gives him a way out and he, in now way, deserves that. He groomed her, just a pedophiles groom their victims, by starting off with innocuous hugs and friendly touch. This wasn't a mistake - it was planned. After all, she wasn't going to complain about a friendly hug, surely? Course not... so by the time became 'reportable', she was stuck. After all, he was only being 'friendly', right? She didn't want to look like a hard bitch, right? She was played, Chris. Please please please tell her she is no more accountable for what he did than a person who was raped. He had no right to touch her inappropriately and he knew it. He did it anyway, because he believed he had created a situation where he could get away with it. SHE had the strength and courage to take action, DESPITE her ill-percieved self-blame. Tell her that the only part of this situation she should be accountable for is the part where she kicked his ass out of there.

As for you, I could feel your own guilt radiating off the screen and I wanted to jump in a hug you tight. This was not your fault either. If you accept guilt for this, you're letting the asshole off, scott-free, and THEN, what are you role-modeling for your daughter? Want to point fingers? Aim your blame directly at DICK and him only.
