Information Clearing House - News you won't find on CNN : Washington and NATO’s New Surrealpolitik

Remember when Ron Suskind quoted an anonymous Bush aide, "The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'' Well, it looks like applies to Obama as well.

If it had not included a STOVL version, it would be made by Boeing. It was STOVL performance that won the competition for Lockheed.

The state secrets principle is not a bedrock legal principle. It is a lie based on a lie. You can US v Reynolds.

Defense Tech : Nuke Cheating Scandal?

As to the story of Rickover requiring someone to break off an engagment, the version I heard, from a Naval Nuke, was that someone was being interviewed by Rickover as a potential entrant, and told to pick up a phone and call it off then and there. He did, and asked if he got in, and Rickover sayd, "Not in my navy," so he asked if he could call again, because he was sure that the guy at the pizza shop was wicked confused. The candidate was accepted to the nuclear program.
