However, most television shows in Japan are somewhat serialized in their concept. There is a fantastic, moving Japanese show that was called Haru & Natsu, the Letters that Never Arrived. It's 8 episodes I believe, and recounts the story of two sisters separated during pre-WW2 Japan. One travels to Brazil and the other remains behind. Many many years later, they reunite. It's got scenes in it that made us cry they were so very touching and moving, and delves into the virtually unknown aspect of Japanese emigration to South America, and the plight of those emigrees.. In America it was shown on NHK Television with subtitles. If you get a chance to watch it, you will not be disappointed!
