Yes, it's pretty much the same size and colors- just the actual fabric is different. I can't really claim credit for that either- the squares were given to me by my Grandmother I just figured a quilt would be a good way to use them :)

As usual I love the color and pattern of your knit!
On the wind making it's way thru the hat- I find using double layers- either a wide brim of thicker yarn or using finer weight yarn and making the whole hat two layer works well. Another option I see a lot of others suggest too is to line the hat with fabric.
I tend to wear my cowl or a scarf so it also covers over my ears and then I can cover my face too.

Love those pants! I usually make a simple pattern I got from Amanda Soule's book but I really like the two contrasting fabrics- I'll have to check them out. I've been sewing more recently too. Working on a quilt for me and (this weeks post) a new handbag to carry my current WIP around with me.
