Big Hollywood : 'The Walking Dead' Review: A Zombie Series with Brains

As long as they don't kill off the hillbilly, I will continue to watch this show. The hillbilly is about the only character I could legitimately believe would survive a zombie apocalypse. The others are cannon fodder as far as I'm concerned. But I like that. It means when someone dies unexpectedly, I don't feel any great loss and I can still enjoy the show. The same could not be said of other favorites like "LOST," which was too painful to watch after some of my favorite characters went the way of the dodo. So I'll definitely stick with this show. But again, only so long as they don't kill off my Daryl.

Now THIS sounds like a good movie. I will definitely have to search it out. I saw "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" this weekend, and it was just as good as everyone has said.

I can't see others' replies (dang internets!), but my GUESS is these classes would have something to do with self-sufficient autonomy. So a class in "anarchist furniture building" would be teaching people how to make their own furniture. Of course, if the "teacher" were to correct the "students" who were using the wrong end of a hammer to put together their DIY coffee table, wouldn't that count as oppression?

What the hell is "green anarchy?" Are we talking "Day of the Triffids" or what? I love the conflicting goals and statements (not to mention the atrocious grammar that smells strongly of bong water). They want to teach limitless autonomy and how it is an important GROUP value. Oh, and it's cute that they want to turn "anarchy" into "scripted" video courses so that everyone can learn how to do it right.

Alan Tudyk FTW! "Seeing college twits being treated with all the respect they deserve is just party bonus. " Agreed! This movie will be even more entertaining now than it would have been even a month ago, given the current bunch of spoiled brat college-age clowns who are part of the "Occupy Wall Street" farce. Where are Tucker and Dale when you need them!

Big Hollywood : 'The Lion King' Blu-ray Review: Perfect Film Beautifully Presented

Okay, I'm just going to come right out and say it: I don't like "The Lion King." I'll never understand why so many people are so enamored of this particular film. Yes, I think it's very good, and I can understand its appeal. But reading some reviews of this movie, you'd think it was a heap of genius dipped in liquid gold and served with a side order of utter perfection. I just don't get it. Personally, I've always felt that "The Lion King" was the first movie in Disney's storytelling DECLINE; not their pinnacle of achievement. I reserve that crown for "Beauty and the Beast," with "Aladdin" a very close second

Big Hollywood : Weekend's Box Office: Family Films Rule, Bigoted Films Tank

DeNiro has fallen into the inevitable pit that awaits all great actors: he plays the same character in every movie he's in. Essentially, he plays Robert DeNiro as Robert DeNiro. Jack Nicholson is the same way; so is Gene Hackman. It's a pity, but so many years in the business tend to calcify male actors into playing the same character regardless of what the character is SUPPOSED to be. I think he could still portray the tough cop these days, but the over-the-top action? Not so much.

Oh, PS - Will Hollywood please stop trying to turn Ryan Gosling into some kind of action stud? He's not. Okay? At best he's the foil to a Hugh Jackman-type in a one-off romantic comedy, where Gosling is the boring but dependable guy and Jackman is the hot one. Speaking of Hugh Jackman, am I the only one who thinks his "fighting robots" movie actually looks pretty neat? I bet it will be HUGE in Japan. They love them some big fighting robots in Japan. Paging Gundam Wing...

Big Peace : China’s One-Child Policy Toll Reaches 400 Million

Look at the beautiful children in that photo and then tell me that abortion isn't evil, and that red China's One Child policy isn't among its most vile human rights abuses. The days of the old timers ruling China with such a tight fist are numbered. The shortage of women is going to be its downfall. Young men who can't find a wife, can't leave behind a legacy, can't find a good job that allows them to live in a good house with a good car, are young men with a lot of anger in their blood. Revolutions have been started over less.

Personally, I'm of the camp that says I will ignore an artist's politics provided the product is one that I enjoy. This is why I wouldn't go near a Michael Moore "film" if my life depended on it, but I would watch a Michael Douglas movie because I happen to think he's a great actor. Of course, some Hollywood types have soured me completely on their work because of their politics, Alec Baldwin being one of them. It stinks, because I love "The Hunt for Red October."

Shockingly, this is the first movie starring Brad Pitt I've wanted to see since "Troy" (and THAT I wanted to see because of my beloved Sean Bean as Odysseus). These are the kinds of characters where I think Pitt really excels; real people, not artsy-fartsy, mumbling, tortured souls.

Big Hollywood : Hollywood's Pedophile Fantasy: 13-Year-Old Raped, Held as Sex Slave in New Film

I have to ask, where were her parents? I remember during the "Kick Ass" controversy the director said that the parents were involved and had given the okay for their daughter to speak and act the way the character was written. What did they have to say about their young daughter being turned into rapebait for this film? There's a big difference between crude cussing and this kind of filthy guttersmut, which tries to pass itself off as "art."

Big Journalism : MSNBC Trots Out The Token Hispanic Reporter

Yeah, it involved mainstream media twits trying to catch the candidates in "gotcha!" style questions while completely avoiding the issues that voters actually care about; namely, the candidates' plans to deal with the miserable state of the moribund economy and the sky-high unemployment rate. Anybody who watched the debate expecting substance was in for a big surprise. The rest of us either ignored it completely or had a merry time checking off every leftist talking point in our "Drinking Game for 'Unbiased' Questions at Republican Debates" handbook. The token hispanic reporter was just a particularly glaring moment of hypocrisy in an evening overflowing with the stuff.

I slept through the debate - I know, shock - so when I heard about this Telemundo guy coming in to ask about immigration, I thought it was a joke at first. Then I realized it was God's honest truth. We can expect cries of racism and stereotyping from the leftist media in 4... 3... 2- What's that? Oh, right. It was the leftist media who trotted him out like the Taco Bell chihauhah in the first place. Never mind. The double standard is breathtaking. It's like the Grand Canyon of 800 pound gorillas in the room. Does this mean, at the next debate, they'll have a high schooler asking questions about why he should have to pay to support entitlements he never voted for that undercut his ability to be prosperous? I somehow don't think so. More likely they'd bring in some poor elderly woman in a wheelchair and on oxygen to ask the candidates, "I'm on Medicare. Why do you want to kill me?" That's just how the media rolls.
