Hi Trish, somehow this came across my feed and it is now year 6 for you. Your energy is inspiring and thought provoking. Shortly it will be one year for me since diagnosis. I have to do those first scans and I know you will appreciate that feeling. I've not really put together as detailed a plan as yours since but generally to exercise more, spend less time labouring over decisions, commit to more family time (than work - this is a challenge for me) are a few key ones. You post has given me food for thought so I'll see what else I can add. Well done you!

You are not the only one. Apart from 14 months of maternity leave each baby, I've worked full-time and I question myself everyday, even more as my work has taken over the past 6-8 months. They are only little for such a short-time. But then when they are at school (which my youngest isn't yet), they have to be there anyway. What do I do with my time then? "Perfect" would be a job allowing me to work 10-2 where I could do drop offs and pick-ups and be there for them as well as keep busy for myself. Now how many such jobs come along?! I think the poem's last two lines speak volumes, especially grappling with the mummy guilt. Good luck, Fi.

Mwah! I guess we never really know what's around the corner in life. It may seem the road is clear for miles but unexpected hiccups, big and small, can still surprise and shake us. I mayn't appear to be round the interwebz much lately but I am on the sidelines, cheering you on, sending you love and good wishes, wishing you strength, wisdom and what you need for each moment that comes. xo

I can't imagine the scare you have had. I hope you get the all clear soon. I appreciate and need the reminder to self-check. Wishing you well, Trish.

First and best post I've read on blog commenting, Salz. I must say I still find some of the commenting systems frustrating, especially from mobile gadgets, but I work around it. Ages ago, I actually had to sign up for a blogger profile though I post on WP because I could never get my comments to show up on blogger sites. Now my blogger profile just points directly to my WP blog. Maybe there was a better way round it but I could never get it to work!

Sounds like a great plan, Deb! I've not been around much for the past year either so I get that life gets in the way. The pressure to produce and produce yesterday is so strong, especially in the blogging world where posts are so prolific. A resource for mums is good. I don't know if it is any help but I must say I've noticed a couple of blogs of late that are actually run by a group of contributors (maybe like Life on the Hill) and that makes it an interesting mix of stories and perspectives. It may not be relevant to HMM but maybe it might. Wishing you the best and I'll pop back in when I can. xo

Experience is a good thing so getting some work back on your resume can only help. As to questions, I've learnt over time that part of an interview is finding out if the job fits you as much as you fit the job. Lisa's questions are great. I can't think of any others. Wishing you all the best!

What an amazing cake. You did an excellent job. I've got two birthday cakes to plan in 3 weeks. I'd better start planning!

What an awesome idea and awesome mum you are! So creative and thoughtful. I'd had to learn to machine sew...hmmm...which is on my 2013 to-do list since my machine in its unopened box has been sitting behind the sofa since mid 2011 (yikes!) It was lovely to meet you at the DP do and I now know where to come to look for crafty inspiration. (I'm a little short in that department).

These are the type of practical tips I need in answer to my IBOT post. I struggle to grab 5 minutes for myself because it never feels worth the time if I can't have an hour or more. That is just a silly approach, if I really knock some sense into myself, because for now, with all that's going on, sometimes 5 minutes quiet to myself is all I'm going to have. Thanks for sharing these. I hope you are keeping well, Trish.
