I believe this would be the first WWE title change on raw since the night Rey Mysterio won it and then lost it to John Cena later that same night. Which was over 4 years ago.

If you didn't want it spoiled why would you read something clearly labeled as a spoiler? LOP definitely doesn't always label headlines correctly but they did a pretty good job with this one.

I can't say I am surprised about the recent ratings slide. Cena/Rollins are off tv around the same time. Taker and Brock are off as well among others.

They had a clean slate for the wwe world title scene. They could have done some exciting stuff. Could have been a surprise heel turn like they kinda teased. A lot of different scenarios. Could have run with Kevin Owens who is 100x more entertaining than Sheamus.

They decided to go with Sheamus as champ. Who I never found entertaining. He is not going to be able to carry the ratings with multiple stars out.

Oh please TMZ/Lana didn't force WWE to kill any angle. We knew HHH/Stephanie were married for years while they pretended to be divorced on TV. The angle is over because it was horrible. Now they can blame Lana instead of the people who came up with that angle.
