I remember distinctly my pastor talking about Psalm 22 and Jesus' words on the cross -- I hadn't made that connection of hope before then...I had always interpreted that cry as Jesus feeling alone and abandoned. It helps so much to read and understand the New Testament in light of the Old Testament.

Thank you for a very thoughtful and thought-provoking post, Shaunie - I appreciate how much time and energy you put into this!

I've been thinking a lot this way this week and last, panicking over my decision to quit my job and take the leap into full-time writing. This was just what I needed to steady the nerves, Lisa - thank you. And a blessed Easter to you and your loved ones, too!

I took more than 3 weeks off around the holidays, and while it was good to have the hiatus from writing, I also missed it and was glad to get back to it. I've missed you -- and the blame's not all on you either...I don't visit my favorite peeps nearly as much as I used or as much as I want to. It's just life, I guess...never enough hours, and something has to give. So for me, it's visiting blogs -- I regret that I have to make that choice!

My husband is the person who got me to start going to church, so I guess we don't fit the stereotype! This is really interesting, though...I guess I wouldn't have assumed much of what the research indicates here. Thanks for opening my eyes to an interesting issue, Lisa.

I do love how God uses flawed people -- it gives me hope that he will use me for his good plans, despite my flaws and foibles!

I am completely in awe of how applicable and appropriate these verses and this post is for me right now as we walk through the valley. Thank you, dear friend.

What a sweet, whimisical post, Shaunie. I've always loved the Little Drummer Boy Christmas carol.

And #958 on your list? I want you to know that YOU are one of those people for me -- your prayers and encouragement, especially during his hard time, are heavensent. Thank you so much, dear friend.

Love the angel that came in the form of that "B+" nurse!

And I love #943, too -- he truly is a hero to brave the wilds of Costco!

Entering a scary, dark journey, so this is particularly appropriate for me to read tonight. Thank you.
