The Heritage Foundry : Federal Court Upholds School Ban on American Flag T-Shirts

This decision promotes violence. The lesson learned here for high school students is that if you are offended by a t-shirt, then go ahead and attack the students wearing it. The result will be that the school will send the t-shirt wearing kids home and bad the shirt. Great job, school district and federal court... you just promoted violence in American high schools. Brilliant.

Big Hollywood : 'The Vow' Review: A Sweet Attempt at an Unusual Story

Paige becomes extremely whiny and annoying after starting out as likable, fun, and relatable! I just couldn’t sympathize with her anymore. One minute she wants to be with Leo, then the next she’s fighting her feelings for ex-fiance. This story’s been said and done and frankly, we didn’t need all this mixed feeling nonsense in the middle. We should’ve seen more of Leo and Paige’s back story and struggles the couple face while trying to reconstruct her memories. It would’ve been much more of a realistic touch than how the film eventually plays out. ===== So, in other words, her character is just like her character in "The Notebook". She got whiny and annoying and flip-flopped all over the place in that story as well. She got engaged, saw a picture of her ex, lied to her fiance, went to see her ex, cheated on her fiance with her ex, then the next morning tells her ex that she's going back to her fiance and then whines that things are so difficult to figure out. Despite that, the guy puts up with all her nonsense. At least in this movie, there's a good reason for the guy to put up with her nonsense, because he made "the vow" of marriage. But in "The Notebook", BOTH guys should have dumped Rachel McAdams character.

Big Hollywood : Madonna Delivers Shock-Free Halftime Show

I wouldn't say that it was pro-Obama, but it was definitely as full of lies and propaganda as any of Obama's propaganda commercials (ie the one where he claims he's one of the best pro-energy Presidents and has created so many jobs, etc). They talk about Detroit being some kind of example of the country "working together" and "coming back"? In what alternate universe is that true? I've lived here since 1999 and it is no where near "coming back". Not to mention, I have not seen anything about Detroit where Detroiters are "working together". Quite the opposite, in fact. All the Detroiters and those whom Detroiters elect to office do is whine about racism and accuse anyone of racism who offers to help fix Detroit. The city and its schools are still dungholes and failing. And what commercial did I see locally here about Detroit? Some whining commercial from the Ambassador Bridge builders union or some such complaining about Governor Snyder. Chrysler would be wise to stop associating itself with Detroit, since Detroit is a complete dunghole no where near "coming back" and has no interest "working together". The unions control the City and racism infests the population. There is nothing about Detroit that should be used as example to America of anything. Chrysler should stick to giving itself props for turning things around. Because if people associate Chrysler with the dunghole that is Detroit, Chrysler's turnaround is doing to drive right into a ditch.

The recent job numbers did not help Obama much, true. 1.2 million people lost from the job market. In one month. That is a disaster. What did not help *Romney* was his response to that disaster: saying that "oooh looks like we had good job numbers and the economy is turning around!" That right there showed people that Romney had not a clue what he's talking about.

"And I don't get why people get so excited about seeing women act like crass guys." Exactly. This is funny as a side-story in a film or as a laugh line, but not as the main theme of a movie. Women acting like crass guys is not funny, it's just... crass.

Big Hollywood : If Hollywood's Always Behaved Badly, Why Do We Dislike It So Much More Today?

"And also, the incessant political statements and causes that we are subjected to whenever they make appearances is just insulting. It has made me cross so many stars off my lists that I am pretty much reduced to watching old classics. I never knew David Niven's political beliefs, nor Cary Grant's." ========== I wish I could remember where I saw the interview, but I believe it was with January Jones of "Mad Men" fame. She was talking about advice that she received from some famous actor or actress. The advice was that the key to being a good actress, she should give as few interviews as possible and reveal as little as possible about her personal life. This way, the audience could find her character portrayals genuine and believable, because they would only know her as her characters and not have her personal life info in the back of their minds when watching her on screen. If only most actors/actresses followed this advice.

Big Hollywood : 'Adjustment Bureau' Review: Good Performances in Fascinating Story

Also, with regards to those complaining that many of us are boycotting the movie simply based on Matt Damon's presence in it... Matt Damon uses his money and his celebrity influence to undermine everything about this country. Therefore, anyone who goes to see his movies, gives him more money and more celebrity influence to undermine this country. I don't give a hot damn how good the movie is. If there are actors within the movie who are undermining my nation, I am NOT going to support their efforts. PERIOD. I could care less if Hollywood goes bankrupt and never makes another movie ever again. I could care less about the survival of Hollywood and whether or not they make the right movies. I care about the survival of my country. And when people go to movies where those involved are actively working to destroy the country, they are assisting their efforts. This could be the best Christian movie ever made in the history of the world. I.don't.care. Matt Damon will simply turn around and use the money and success from the movie to further push his America-hating influence in this nation. Would people argue that we are to go see a pro-Christian movie put out by Michael Moore, when we know that he would turn around and use the profits from the movie to undermine the nation? No, they wouldn't. The same applies to Matt Damon and the rest of the socialist filth in Hollywood.

I'm not sure to whom you're referring with people who review movies based on trailers and actors. I don't review movies. I make judgments on whether or not I will see it based on the trailers and actors. I make assumptions about the movie based on the background of the people involved. But, no, I don't write movie *reviews* based on trailers and actors. I use them to determine whether or not I think the movie is worth my money and my time.

That is exactly the interpretation I had of this movie based on the trailers, knowing Damon's hatred of Christianity. I don't believe there is any way possible that Damon would make a film that would be kind to Christianity at all, as the reviewer seems to think. This seems to be exactly the opposite. It seems that Damon is mocking Christianity and is insisting that the Christian God is a dictator and there is no such thing as Free Will. Of course, since Damon is an atheist, he doesn't believe in the existence of God. So this is just a movie to insult the belief in Christianity, basically saying that anyone who is a Christian believes in a God who is a dictator Who denies people of Free Will.

Here is a different take on the movie as well: Movie Review: The Adjustment Bureau "One star. I think it's probably one and a half stars, but I'm deducting a half-star for the completely deceptive marketing campaign, which sells this as the sort of movie I wanted to see, when in fact it's a completely different one. A really g*ytarded one."

Big Hollywood : 'Narnia' Producer: 'Whether These Books are Christian, I Don't Know'

Also, regarding the speculation that the producer and Neeson are saying these things, because they don't want to offend anyone. I don't buy that reasoning. The vast majority of this nation is Christian. Why pander to the minority and offend the majority? Mel Gibson put out an unapologetically Christian story, The Passion of the Christ and that succeeded extremely well. So why wouldn't Hollywood take the message from that that good movies which are unapologetically Christian would do well? Or is this another case of pandering to foreign audiences, whom they believe are not Christian and would go to the movie if they felt it was not a Christian movie? Similar to the way they take American movies and water them down to say they are not American, but wordly (ie how they changed Superman from '...American way' to '...all that stuff').

You know what would have been great? If The Da Vinci Code were to have come out this year and Tom Hanks were to say: "You know, I'm not sure this is about Christianity specifically, but really about all religions. It could be about Mormonism or Islam. I believe it to be a movie questioning the authenticity of all religions and all their 'prophets', like Joseph Smith or Mohammad." Imagine a statement like that.

Look up the songs on YouTube. This isn't a rap album at all. It's more old fashioned MoTown music. Look up songs such as "Bright Lights, Bigger City", "Love Gun", "Old Fashioned" and the cover of Band of Horses' "No One's Gonna Love You".

Meh, I liked the song. As others have noted, it hit home for me from past experiences and is a nice, peppy, up-beat release. As far as the rest of the album, my favorites are "Bright Lights, Bigger City", "Love Gun", "Old Fashioned" and the cover of Band of Horses' "No One's Gonna Love You" (which I first heard on the TV show "Chuck" and immediately liked). "Bright Lights, Bigger City" is probably my favorite, even moreso than FU. Granted, it's probably because I've overplayed FU over the past couple months since I discovered it while reading Ace of Spades HQ, where they originally posted a version which had the lyrics in the video before the official video came out. It was pretty clever. Overall, though, I really like the old MoTown sound as well as the videos that he has made.

I don't remember, since the only time I read any of Frum's nonsense is when it's pointed out on conservative blogs I read, but has Frum called Barack "typical white person" Obama a racist at any time? Or how about Michelle "patient dumping" Obama? Or how about Rev. Jeremiah "Hillary ain't never been called a ni**er" Wright?
Big Hollywood : 'Hereafter' Review: Well-Crafted but Ultimately Disappointing

All I needed to see was the trailer on TV where Damon's character states "You won't *believe* how it is" (speaking of the afterlife). All I could do was roll my eyes, because I can't take Damon seriously speaking of anything regarding religion. All that came to mind was him waiting until they said "okay, cut" and then laughing hysterically at the fact he had to mouth those words in the scene, considering he mocks anyone who believes in religion. And what is it with him playing roles where he has this amazing gift (Good Will Hunting he's extremely intelligent, Bourne movies he's an amazing soldier, now here he has this gift for seeing the afterlife), yet in all of them he considers it some kind of curse that he has the gift. In Good Will Hunting he basically hates the fact he has the gift and just wants to be a regular guy, in the Bourne series he hates the fact that he's an amazing soldier and just wants to be a regular guy and in this movie he has this gift, but gets sick of it, considers it a curse and wants to be a regular guy. Then of course there was Legend of Bagger Vance where he was a great golfer, but didn't want to golf. Interesting how he always puts himself into these "genius" roles, but then in real life he's a complete dunce, especially when it comes to politics. I wonder if the roles he plays are "compensation" for other things. Similar to the stereotype that men buy big cars to compensate for small 'packages'. Does he take "genius" roles to compensate for the fact he has a small intellect?
