Profit Blogger : Blogging SEO Series - The Basics: How To Do Keyword Research

No problem. Keyword research was one of the things I too had trouble really wrapping my head around. It can get pretty detailed but I wanted to get the basics up. That's why this particular post took a while to get posted. I'm glad you liked it, I hope it helps

Profit Blogger : Blogging SEO Series - The Basics: The Importance Of Using Keywords

Thank you Emily, and it certainly is. The "trick" is to write for your audience first and then make sure you have your keywords in place without your post/article sounding redundant redundant redundant and did I mention redundant? :)

Profit Blogger : Pick Your Passion: What To Blog About

Thanks Nathan, and I know exactly what you mean. I actually tried running multiple blogs simultaneously and found I wasn't getting enough content on any one blog to really establish it. There are ways around this such as outsourcing, PLR content, and guest writers (each have their pros and cons) but those methods generally either cost money or require a certain bit of your own content for guest bloggers to want to leverage their own time on your blog.

That's great, I visited last night and saw that you also added adsense to you your blog. I have a suggestion for you. With you blog being about artwork, consider using keywords in the written portion of your blog such as art, artwork, painting, digital artwork, etc. Use keywords in a variety of styles font (heading, bold, italic, underline etc.) and as "root text" for any links such as "For more of her artwork visit her website" and then make the "more of her artwork" be the link. Also consider adding keywords to the "alt" and "title" tags for your images (when editing your post in blogger click the image and chose properties). If you note on the image in this post when you hover your mouse over the image you see a little pop up describing the image. I've done so using keywords for this post. This will help fine tune your keyword SEO a bit and help adsense know better what kind of ads to display.

Ok first consider adsense ads. In addition to or in place of, check with your art supply stores websites and see if they have affiliate programs. Check any website that sells art (paintings, photos, etc. as long as it fits with the theme of your website) and see if they have affiliate programs. If you have a decent monthly readership maybe some galleries would be interested in purchasing ad space. Just make sure what ever ads you have fit with the theme of your blog.

Profit Blogger : Branding Your Blog

I guess it would depend on what your goal is with your blog. If you are trying to establish yourself as an expert or authority on a particular subject, especially with the intent of creating a stream of income from the blog, then branding comes with the territory. If you are just blogging for fun about a subject or activity that you enjoy, and creating a stream of income is secondary, then no it's not as important. I think that you'll find though that once you have you/your blog is branded the trust factor (accepted as an authority), readership, and income increase as well because they walk hand in hand. You may find also, you've established your brand, without even trying to. Sometimes it's as simple as promoting your blog using social media.

Steve K's Vaping World | e-Cigarette Reviews and News : e-Cigarette News Roundup 5-17 - Getting my bearings

Great post Steve, "loved" the segment on the FDA. Ya gotta love when they step on their own toes... only problem is there are so many people who are ignorant of all the info so they automatically jump on the band wagon of the nay sayers. I've been using Electronic Cigarettes (namely the eGo) for more than 2 years now and haven't felt this good since I started smoking. And although It's not marketed for the most part as a smoking cessation device, I have been able to even gradually decrease the nicotine levels in my ejuice (I make my own) to zero.... But since the FDA says so I guess I better take up smoking again I'm not getting enough carcinogens hehehe

Hey Steve, thanks for the comment and you're absolutely right. And chances are if your blog becomes a chore, it may take a while, but eventually chances are you will stop delivering content at all.
