Looks like an awesome Japanese themed dinner party. As a dietitian living in Japan, I definitely approve! I have taken a few Japanese cooking classes since moving here and I have learned a lot but I can't quite get the presentation down. The Japanese have immense skills when it comes to that. http://nutrfoodtrvl.blogspot.com

Congrats! So beautiful! I have been traveling a lot but I knew you had to have gotten married in that time and thought I would pop by and check in. I am so excited to get to see pics!

Oh no! If it makes you feel any better, I got a huge burn on my chest (I was wearing strapless dress so my breastbone area was exposed...actually pictures are on my blog today) just before my wedding. I can't really remember all the details, but I think it was from our yard sale and then it was like a week or two before the wedding and I think my makeup lady had to cover up a little. At least this is what I can remember. Maybe it was for my wedding shower...at something I had the remnants of a burn.

So glad he is getting home soon. I know how things can go in that time and I understand not telling kids until the time is very close because, sadly, things can change. I am glad you like the Commander's wife.

Hooray for Altus! I have never been, but I have quite a few students (I sub at the middle/high school) who are from there. I knew a few of these, but not the ones specific to Dave's career field. When we move to Japan I know there are flights from Seattle. Do these go from McChord or the local airport? Just curious...maybe you know.

Thanks for the info on the redeployment. I am a mil spouse and didn't know any of that. I hope you get some good down time in before any redeployment.

Seriously confused on the pee badly thing. I won't even ask how that brings people to you!

I almost forgot to say that the guacamole recipe was from a Rick Bayless cookbook.

I agree. With the military you will find many strong opinions about things that directly impact us. So the budget thing was a huge topic here and cause for much complaint because we are overseas and there was the threat of closing the commissary, which caused the biggest panic, you would have thought there was a snow storm coming. Needless to say, nothing was shut down. I try to avoid panic until it is a real issue, not just a threat. I find that helps to stay positive. You can't do anything about a lot of those things so you just have to go with it.

Good for you for letting your frustrations out and sharing with others. My guess is that others have been exactly where you are right now. For me, I hate running so I can't say I have had an experience like this with running, but I can tell you care about running because you can get emotional about it. Hang in there and keep it up.
