I know I haven't been around much, and I hope that doesn't make me a bad online friend. Please know that I am still thinking of you. You ARE strong (I used to hate when people said that to me)., and you have the support you need to get through this journey. I'm still hoping we can meet up next month in Sydney.

Today I am thankful that my father-in-law's very painful battle is over. The next few days will be sad, but a wonderful man is now free.

Trish, Everything you are feeling is completely normal. To have the added complication of your Little Angel's anniversary makes it a wonder that you're still on your feet.

I'm sorry to say darling, that you will continue to have days and weeks like this. My best advice is to seek couselling if it's available. My mistake was leaving it too late. And 2+ years down the track, I too am careful to get every lump, bump and minor ailment checked out. It's not hypochondria, it's good sense and your doctors will tell you the same.

Hang in there Trish, it WILL get better, and I'll say again, that you have an amazing support network. You ARE brave and gracious, and you will get through this. Also, don't be afraid to vent! If you feel like throwing a tantrum, do it! Do it here... we will all understand. Or lie on your bed... kick your legs, and thump some pillows. (I don't recommend you do it in the local grocery store... unless you're keen for a couple of nights or complete quiet and immobility) :)

Really pleased that you got a chance to go along. Also that you found it beneficial. Always remember you're not alone in this journey. Apart from your husband, family and friends (who will be your rocks), there are thousands of us who may have something to contribute to your well-being, and we will do so gladly. You know how to reach me mate. Don't worry about what I may be going through just now, if I can help you, I will also help me.

Hugs luvvy
PS
You ROCK the pink hair :)

Absolutely! You mustn't beat yourself up over having bad days. It's not possible to be a ray of sunshine through the entirety of this journey. What's important, is that under the pain, anger and sadness, there is strength and positivity, which WILL shine through, tomorrow or the next day, or whenever.

Hugs (gentle ones) and prayers still heading your way.

I STRONGLY recommend the "Look Good Feel Better" Program. take a friend or relative with you, it's good fun, and you'll see just how not alone you are in this journey. Some in your group will have already experienced their hair loss, others will be dreading it just as you are. The ladies who run the session are very experienced, they'll have heaps of tips and tricks, and will help you feel very comfortable. They introduced me to a very soft, very colourful turban, which was my absolute favourite when I didn't feel like wearing the wig. It's actually a soft, stretchy tube of fabric that you twist to make a turban. Keep an eye out for it, it's not as dificult as it sounds. Mine is bright pinks, oranges, greens and blues. So cheerful and so comfortable. I ALWAYS had admiring comments when I wore it :-)

PS - I LOVE the Pixie hairdo. I'd have it myself if I could :-)

NOW... on the UPSIDE.... You will probably lose almost ALL of your hair! This IS a good thing. You will save a fortune on shampoo and conditioner. You will save tons of time by virtue of not having to shave/wax your legs. And believe me... there will be times when the last thing you want to contemplate is shaving legs, or plucking eyebrows. EASY, you won't HAVE TO!!! WIN!!!!

Trish, I think I mentioned to you that I used the hair loss as an opportunity. As someone with very thick, very dark, very curly hair, I had a chance to have straight, blonde hair for the first time in my life. Everyone loved it, so much so that some wanted me to try and keep the look once my hair grew back. Unfortunately my hair grew back, just as it was before I lost it, so unless I shave my head... no more straight blonde hair for me. I DO however get the nervousness about the hair loss. It's different for everyone, for me it was my beautiful eyelashes going that hurt the most.

Yay for not too horrible pathology! Chemo is another journey entirely, but you'll manage it with grace as you've shown over the past week or so :-)

Still thinking of you Trish. Don't worry about the blah days! They will happen. I know you will maintain your positive outlook, which will do wonders for your healing and recovery.

Actually, Cathy's message earlier today was perfect. Nicely said.
