Hey Frank, Yes you are right, But i thot why not make his life easier .. Coz I remember how I waited for the Jb to come out and how it all felt so was thinking if I could keep it at 5.0.1 and just restore it to factory state than he can JB it easily .. Is their some solution to it? If there is a solution to it than I don't mind following some guide/tutorial and do it .. Thanks a Lot!

Thanks Ohgott .. I understand the procedure... But my main concern here is ... Will it Lock once I upgrade to 5.0.1? Since i am currently on 5.0 and it says Modem Firmware 05.16.05 and I am able to use any sim .. I believe its already factory unlocked? and shouldnt give me any problems (like lock up) if I upgrade to 5.0.1

Hi.. Awesome Job Dev Team! I need some help .. Clark/Frank U there guys :D I just purchased a used 3GS I popped in my sim and its working fine.. It says Version 5.0 (9A334) Modem Firmware 05.16.05 It was not Jailbroken so I used redsn0w_win_0.9.10b3 to JB it .. But its a Tethered JB .. Now I believe if I upgrade the Version to 5.0.1 Then i can JB it untethered Correct? But if I upgrade to 5.0.1 Will it mess things up? Like lock the phone etc? I am not sure if this is Factory Unlocked or not... So is there a way to find out? Since I am currently on Ver 5.0 and Modem Firmware 05.16.05 and not the iPad baseband and its working fine with any sim then I believe its already factory Unlocked? So should I upgrade to 5.0.1 and then JB again? Your help will be highly appreciated :) Much Thanks in Advance!
