It is not right that anyone has to feel such intense pain. Sending love and prayers for a deep nights sleep.

Mary, I'm a primary school teacher and I'm horrified by the attitude of Michaela's principal. Regardless of the reasons for a childs learning difficulties you start from where they are. IEPs should list the strengths as well as the challenges and you start from the strengths.
You are doing what you feel is right for your daughter and I wish you both every support. It certainly has its challenges, it does require an ability to be disciplined, to stick to a routine and I agree the social concerns are a major one. But considering the difficulties Michaela was experiencing and the progress she has made the rewards will compensate.

I agree Thom. We all have baggage. But now that I've reached middle years I like myself warts and all. If I did not have my internal scars I would not be who I am today.

Great story, but I think I would have strangled Dr. Kissinger! I try to teach this message to my very young students, do your best, don't fret if it's wrong just ask why is it wrong and try to learn from your mistakes. Your best effort is all that is required

Man flu, the worst known virus to affect the well being of women. :D This case has made me smile instead of grit my teeth and pray for patience.
