Oh dear, it really isn't that bad to not want to knit socks :D - although I really think your sock looks super, but I can understand it, I guess we all have our love to hate projects - mine would have to be toys, stuffed knitted toys, I love looking at others toy projects and it is always delightful to see them in all their glory, but I don't think I would have the patience or interest in getting one finished!
My advice - Nothing for it, plough through number 2 as soon as number 1 is done, you can't be getting yourself some second sock syndrome!
I adore your fair-isle sweater, definitely can see the love there :)
