Wow, missed this the first time. Probably cuz we were at the hospital. Otherwise I'm sure I would have seen this going around the Twitterverse! Cactus Pants made me cry. I have not been on the receiving end of harsh treatment of my son that often. I think because we have only one car, and my husband usually has it for work. I am blessed to be part of a church that is pretty understanding, though I'm sure there are times we've unsettled folks.

Anyway, my husband is often surprised when I mention stories like this, and our librarian too (who is an angel and lets me run a special needs story time). Thank you to Cactus Pants for standing up for our kids. And thank you, Jillsmo, for encouraging me in my blogging.

*sigh* Yes, I hear your frustration. I am a recovering perfectionist myself, but I don't know how to help my son. I tell him as he sobs over a misformed letter, "It's ok." And he sobs/screams, "NO IT'S NOT OK!" I've been told by many other spectrum parents it takes a long time and you have to find ways to show them mistakes are ok, like make your own on purpose, or when you make a mistake, share it and how to deal with it. Sure looks like a long road of endurance from here...

I hear you. ;) I'm wondering if your kiddos love to sleep on the floor, too. My son is finally in a bed after a year or more of sleeping on the bed. I just read that it could be because he was not getting enough sensory input from his old mattress!

Anyway, our wall under the front window looks like their bedroom walls. Sadly, that's my 3 yo NT child. :P Big brother just has to pick things apart. There are a few dime-size holes in his bedroom walls that he carved out with the end of a tack. Yes, a tack. That's diligence, isn't it?

I want to win because it sounds like a great book for my boys!

Well, I have nothing clever to contribute as my brain cells are completely fried from trying to figure out what to do with all the junk on the dining room table that is threatening to overtake the immediate area. That's kind of freaky about the oldest shoe. Hey, you taught my brain cells something today. Thanks!

And you're really not that bad at poetry...

I have to say I would never have thought of putting these together. And it's SO exotic and fancy-sounding! Sounds like a great recipe for a Fancy Nancy girls' party! :)
