Just letting you know that I received my prize yesterday. I spent most of the evening organizing and shuffling things around. Combined with my ongoing share haul, I now have prepared goody bags for my sisters, a good friend, and a big bag of goodies for my nieces birthday. I didn't leave myself out either! I am extremely pleased and thankful, and it won't end with me. Much love!
I'm really excited that I won! I am already thinking of all the wonderful beauty bags I get to prepare for my sisters and friends! Thank you for the opportunity, and I will definitely be passing on the goodies! I'll keep some for myself too! Lots of exclamation points!
I am in complete agreement about metal lash combs. Plastic ones are pointless. A few months ago, I bought a MUF metal lash comb. It was pretty expensive, but worth the investment. The metal tips are slightly rounded, and less dangerous.
I've been wanting to try out a subscription that has more full sized options. I've been interested in Glossybox and Boxycharm for a bit. I canceled Sephora Play and Birchbox, because what I was receiving didn't match my preferences at all. I like that with Ipsy it took a few months, but I'm now at the point where I love everything I get minus an item or two here and there. I like boxes that have a customizable profile, and that adapt to your preferences. This looks like a nice one, and I've never heard of it. Surprising, since they've been around for a while.
Huh, I feel kind of opposite from you about BB VS Ipsy. I eventually cancelled both BB and Sephora Play in favor of keeping Ispy. Glossybox and Boxy Charm are the next ones I want to give a go, when I can afford to do it. I was so glad when Ipsy stopped sending me weird nail polish colors. Maybe they got the hint when I kept rating them (the polishes) with one star. Luckily, I know enough ladies that anything I come by that's not right for me, I can easily pass along. I have a strange pink or red rule for polish, and I only wear it on my toes. It's a quirk that really doesn't fit my personality.
I remember when these came out and were all the rage! I still like them. I usually use more than one at a time though, because they'll fall right out of my hair otherwise! It makes my hair look full of ribbons. Since my hair is too long right now, I've taken to looping it three times in a bun with an elastic, and putting a fancy stick in there to hold it in place. It's easy to do without looking, and I've actually gotten compliments. It seems that when I don't look at my hair, it looks better.
I have been using beauty blenders with other tools for at least a year now. If I use a foundation brush, it seems to take away my primer or moisturizer, thus leaving my skin dry and patchy. I like to apply My Tarte Shape Tape with a my NYX mixer to adjust the shade/moisture as needed, (can't praise this mixture enough. I don't even bother with foundation lately.) then I go in with my brushes to lightly apply blush and a light dusting of finishing powder. I have been loving the sample of Winky Lux Diamond Powder I got from Ipsy. It's not drying, which many finishing powders tend to be. I like to mix it with other, less illuminating powders. I love the formula, but they could have gone a tad easier on the illumination. It is nice though, and not glittery. I love paragraphs.
Years ago, silicone primers used to work for me. Now my skin is way too dry for them, and I find that sticky primers work best for me. Sometimes I skip it all together and just use a little moisturizer if I'm not concerned about a long lasting finish.
That's funny, BTS never smudges for me. A few years ago I got a sample of it and it must have gone off, because it was horrible and gummy. I didn't get the hype. A couple months ago I got another sample from Ipsy, and I am still using it! I really like the volume it provides with little effort. I currently have about 20 mascaras and have tried many more, but I've never found that perfect one.
I think you might fall into the super mom category. I have five siblings and nine nieces and nephews. I get to be their beauty guru (my four sisters anyway, not my brother so much!). I love putting together beauty kits and giving them to my ladies! I love how clueless they are about beauty products compared to me. Although I still have time, I lament not having children...until I'm around my youngest nephew for about an hour. He's an adorable little monster!
