I fixed your post for you. I wonder what “not real” things they waste their time with on a daily basis? And I’m not even referring to things within their religion, but just typical things that nearly everyone does, like watching movies and tv shows, reading fiction books, talking to the family pet like it can understand every word, etc. Cherry picking, like usual.
Oh goody, Intense Debate, aka Intense Debacle, the biggest piece of s.hit commenting platform in the history of commenting platforms, is back. Anyone notice that the list comment totals appear on the front page as usual, but then when you click into a given list, the comment-count number switches to a lower number. Then, scrolling down the list, you can see where some comments have disappeared, apparent where some replies now are stand-alone comments.
But yay…we get to click little thumb things again, like a bunch of brainless pavlovian pigeons frantically pecking at a button to get a few morsels of food…that makes it all better.
I really really really (I mean REALLY) hope it is not the plan to utilize this c.rap platform on a permanent basis when you switch to the “new” system.
Well sure but so is Yngwie and Vai, but as with Gilbert, it seems like they’re more known as individuals for their awesome talents, rather than their earlier bands as a collective garnering a lot of mainstream attention. That’s kind of the case with all those shredder types – MacAlpine, Batio, Becker, etc. (and Buckethead) – they are all pretty much solo, or rather singular entities that get (deserved) attention, but your list was about “bands”, so that’s why I tossed out Racer X and Alcatrazz as suggestions. On the other hand, a guy like Marty Friedman, while right up there with those other guys, gets less individual attention than the band he’s in, which is why I wouldn’t try to justify suggesting Megadeth here. As surely you’d agree, they’re too well known for this list. Eh, it’s a fine line, trying to define what is “enough” attention vs. being deserving of more. That said, don’t get me wrong dude, I dug your list. Ok, what about Fastway? Heh.
Seems like a lot of folks are complaining of the predominance of thrash/death types of bands here, but then (with a few exceptions), those seem to make up the majority of the “what about” comments too, with it starting to become a “let’s see how many obscure bands we can name” fest. So, just to mix it up a little bit – what about a couple of neo-classical or glam metal bands "deserving of more attention":
Racer X
Alcatrazz
Bang Tango
London
Cool list, ‘bait. Loving Exodus at number 1, a band practically right out of my own backyard. Though their Bonded by Blood album is regarded as a classic in the genre, so it’s almost like that should exclude them from this list, based on your premise. Maybe I'm splitting hairs though, so no biggie. Saw them once wayyyy back in the day, met Paul Baloff...R.I.P. :-(
