I heard that FemShep will not be featured on the release of the new trilogy set, not even as a reversible cover. But she wouldn't have looked like my Shepard anyway. Everyone thinks of their Shepard as the ~real~ Shepard. It's always jarring when I see fan art featuring other people's Sheps. That's not what she looks like!

So excited for this. I've only recently started playing ME2 but I think I'm getting close to the end. I skipped ME1 because we only have it for xbox whereas we have 2 and 3 for PS3 so I wouldn't be able to import my character from 1 . . . I don't know, this decision made sense before. My plan is to import my current character to 3 and then start all over with 1. I got hella spoiled because I watched my boyfriend play through most of the series. I'm enjoying it a lot, though. Oh my god, April is the worst. I've tried so hard to like her and I. just. can't. She symbolizes the beginning of the end for one of my favorite shows. The secondary characters (other than April, of course) are what make the show work. I really don't think the show would have been so successful or so good if it hadn't had such a well developed supporting cast. I especially love all the subtle running gags involving the secondary characters like how Kirk works everywhere and the preacher and the rabbi share a church, Al's Pancake World serves everything but pancakes (and Al is never seen).

I'm a Rory/Jess girl myself, but... not during the series. I ship them post-series since they've now both figured out their lives. Same here! I just watched the episode when Jess leaves Stars Hollow to track down his father and he doesn't even tell Rory or say goodbye to her. On the one hand, he is going through so much turmoil (flunking out of high school, mommy issues, just met his father for the first time) so I can kind of understand why he acts the way he does. On the other hand, he really doesn't treat Rory very well. I was so excited to see him come back and to find out that he had gotten his life together. I like to imagine that he and Rory get together post-series. I was so relieved when she turned down Logan's proposal and that was partly why. Yeah, season six is where characterization starts to get rocky and it just gets worse with seven. I think the best thing about season six is Jess' return. But yeah, six is unpleasant and seven is just unwatchable for me. I think Lorelai eloping with Chris happened in seven, actually, which is part of why I hate that season. I actually think it was interesting and kind of necessary for Rory to spend some time living with her grandparents, just to bring the show full circle. She gets to experience that wealthy, privileged lifestyle (which makes her fit in better with Logan and his crowd) and explore her relationship with her grandparents. I mean, the show had been suggesting from the beginning that Richard and Emily treat Rory as the new improved Lorelai so it makes sense that they finally took it to that extreme. Although it was out of character for Rory to choose that lifestyle I think that was kind of the point. She was floundering; her life had been so defined by her academic achievements that one failure became a crisis of identity for her. The fact that she samples what Emily and Richard have to offer and ultimately rejects it is a huge turning point for her. I do think Lorelai should have been more understanding (and I hate that when they finally make up Rory just apologizes and Lorelai forgives her - as if Lorelai had nothing to apologize for). Lorelai ended up acting out of character too, and in doing so she was basically acting exactly like Emily. I think that was the point of that arc but it was still jarring and unpleasant to watch. Anyway, thanks for the thoughts! I have a lot of them too and I needed an outlet.

Rory and Paris probably have my favorite dynamic of any two characters on the show. I love watching their friendship develop. They are totally soulmates! In fact, I think they are listed on TVTropes under "heterosexual life partners". I like Logan a lot but I always feel guilty for liking him because he is basically the poster boy for privilege. Maybe I'm being too hard on Dean but he's just so possessive of Rory in the early seasons!

Any Gilmore Girls fans out there? I've been going through my millionth rewatch and am becoming more and more convinced that Mark would dig this show (especially Lane). I know his watches schedule is full so he'll probably never watch it (or at least not review it) but it's been fun imagining his reactions. I've also discovered that I really don't like Dean. Yeah, I haven't been a fan of the dialogue in general. It seems kind of . . . forced? Like they're trying really hard to have witty dialogue? But good wit should come across as effortless. Anyway, yeah, the banter between Shaun and George comes close to sounding flirtatious but I didn't want to say anything because it could just be siblings teasing each other. I'll be interested to see if this goes anywhere. I mean, the author could have just as easily made them genetically related and it wouldn't have changed their relationship too much. So I wouldn't be surprised if she purposely left open the possibility for a romantic relationship later on.
