Some potential caucus voters said they arrived at 9 a.m. to find the large hallways at the convention center packed to the rafters and were told no more people could enter the caucus rooms. Ray Swenson, a Richland lawyer, criticized local GOP officials for poor organization and said the results today should be invalidated. “I think it’s illegal,” Swenson shouted to a gathered crowd, many of whom were filming him with cell phone cameras. “The Republican party leadership is taking away our freedom.” Swenson told the Herald he may file a lawsuit seeking to invalidate the caucus results. “I think it’s unconstitutional,” he said. “Our right to vote is the most fundamental right in the Constitution. … This is exactly equal to walking into a polling place and being told, ‘We’ve run out of ballots. It's all covered in the "The Rockefellers: An American Dynasty" by Peter Collier abd David Horowitz. Any film about Hiss would raise the dust of the findings of the 1950s Reece Committee and McCarran Reports about the foundations active involvement in promoting Communism. Bipolars are characteristically fast-thinking, dynamic risk takers in the manic phase. That's part of the pattern. In the depressive phase they're barely functional and often suicidal. It's somewhat manageable with medication. The current research, that Newt says he's passionately interested in, says it's genetic and incurable. Newt's mother had it and she ended her life in dementia. He broke down and cried on camera. I think he was sincere. He admits his mother was bipolar/manic depressive. By his own behavior patterns going back to his teen years and the observations and comments of past staffers and co-workers, I believe he has it too.

Aside from Marianne, if you look at his erratic thought patterns and chaotic style and consider the comments from others like Vin Weber who have known him for decades, it's clear that he doesn't have the stability to be president. He is intelligent enough; but, in my opinion, he suffers from the same bipolar disorder that his mother did.

The comic book movies, even with all the CGI and 3D have very limited appeal. Aren't there ANY scriptwriters who read anything but comic books? Back in the "Golden Age" many fine properties emerged from short stories published in magazines and popular novels. Not so, anymore. The narrative drives audience interest. If Hollywood would put aside the comic books and take a trip to the library or a good secondhand bookshop they'd find a treasure trove a great material.

The Jews' most important holiday is the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. This year it falls on Saturday, October 8th. I believe that making this film is Mel's atonement for the wrong he did to the Jewish people. Nothing in his life has gone well since he went on that drunken rant.. It's like a fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant. When he cursed the Jewish people, God cursed him. Now, he wants to make atonement in the way he knows best. I believe it will be a film that gloriously portrays the heroism of Judah Maccabee and the Miracle of Hanakkah. Please Jews, as you make Atonement this Yom Kippur to those you have wronged, let this poor gentile sinner make atonement as well.

I wish there was a post title "Movies Critics Said Were Good that I Lost Interest in and/or Slept Through". Dare I admit, I've tried to watch Gladiator 3 times and the first 15 minutes are so dull I turn it off and find something else to do? However, Fargo is not in that category. I tune in whenever it's on and enjoy every part of it, even if I'm just tuning into the last five minutes. I love the ending where Margie is encouraging her husband about the importance of the 2 cent stamp. Endearing and priceless moment!

On her website she says she wrote the piece because QVC Shopping channel pulled the plug on her appearance due to negative viewer feedback. She's trying to address a roadblock in a marketing scheme. Can't sell to Middle America , QVC's customer base, when the common folk in flyover country hate your guts. She needs to target her products to a more receptive group. We just aren't interested in anything she's got to sell.

Aside from Columbo, I remember first being aware of him in a TV drama with Inger Stevens in the early 1960s. It was called "The Price of Tomatoes" and he played the part of a sympathetic produce truck driver. A very moving performance. I also remember him as the Baker from Brooklyn, Rossi, in Castle Keep.
