My little guy had the same, both lip and tongue (so bad that he couldn't use his tongue properly and wasn't able to nurse, so I ended up having to pump for him). The procedure was really quick and not as bad as I thought it would be. He was not happy with the massages and stretches afterwards, but it really did make a difference and he was easily comforted. I'm sorry you have to go through it, but you will both be ok and hopefully it will help solve the issues he's having. Lots of good thoughts to you both.
