This water damage problem naturally came from the natural storms as well as to the negligence of contractors and builders which is the leaky and broken pipes. Of course, not all water devastation from these storms can be totally got out of. However, to minimize the potential water damage in Orange County, there are some ways that are available. Generally, homeowners need to understand that the first steps in property and personal safety are the regular home maintenance and storm awareness. Though it is not possible to avoid the wind and rain storms, it is likely to reduce the impact of water damage stemming from these natural storms.

This is really just one of many articles that tries to weigh out the differences between tape and disk, and has similar arguments than most - that tape is cheaper than disk. There is no doubt that tape is cheaper than disk. Even if disk were free, there are still costs associated with cooling, rackspace, etc. In my opinion, companies should use a combination of disk and tape - utilizing tape for long term retention (like the data that needs to be held for 7 years+) because it is just nonsense to hold data for 7 years on expensive disk. One of the main challenges associated with tape is managing them all as they move offsite and back onsite when they can be used again. You can alleviate these challenges with a tape management solution.

Tape could easily fight back. All that would be needed is some system in front of a tape library that provided deduplication capabilities not just to the disk media but the tape media as well. This way the 30X density over non-deduplicated storage could follow through all the way to the tape media.
