I quick my high-income job when my daughter was born and was a stay-at-home mom until she was in the first grade. I felt it was important to stay on top of her development. It was good that I did because issues cropped up. Early recognition and help really helped the situation.

I have to be honest though...I was miserable being a SAHM. It just wasn't right for me. Now, I work while my daughter is in school. I took a big hit in pay by taking off the time I did. I'm so much happier now though. Yes, balancing work with home like is stressful, but I'm happier, not sadder.

What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another person. It's up to each woman to decide what works for her family's needs.

13 years ago @ http://yeahgoodtimes.b... - \"I wish he was normal\" · 0 replies · +3 points

We don't say we want our kids to be "normal" because it's not the PC thing to do.

However, the fact that most of us spend huge amount of time and resources pursuing therapies for our kids speaks for itself.

While the reality is that my daughter will never be absolutely "normal" I want to get her as close as possible. I want her to have friends and be loved by other people. I want her to have an easier time adapting when things don't go her way. I want her to learn problem solving skills that do not involve crying or tantruming. The quirkiness? That I do embrace fully. If other kids don't get that, then they're not the right friends for her. But everything else? Yeah, I want as normal as possible.

Okay...this is going to sound really weird, but my cat started having seizures out of the blue. The vet didn't know what could be causing them, but he checked him out. Being an older cat, he had developed a thyroid condition ( can't remember if it was an under-active or over-active thyroid) and had to be put on meds for it. After starting the meds, he never had another seizure again. I researched it heavily and couldn't find any connection between the two things.

But I wonder.

Hopefully your doctor can figure it out! Take care of yourself!

Now that you know that "bath salts" aren't what we pour in a bath to pretend we don't have kids...these scary-ass drugs are sold legally in most states! From what I understand, the states aren't moving to make them illegal because the manufacturers only have to do a simple chemical change and then they skirt the illegality.

It's really scary!
