I read the School of Essential...and really, really enjoyed it! Listening to it must be great! I hope the narrator does justice to all the characters!

I have The Darlings to read as well....hopefully it's a good one?

Oh, Shadow of the Wind, Red Tent and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan were all book club choices for us and we ADORED them, LOVED them. Red Tent isn't so much intense as it is wonderful and a great tale about the importance of friendship among women. Great list! You'll have many Top 10 of 2012 and beyond come out of your list! Looking forward to hearing what you have to say.

Oh! Lucky you! My Atwood Favourites: The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace, The Robber Bride, and I liked the Handmaid's Tale too!
