PLAYERESSENCE : Bloodborne Producer says 30fps 'Is Best For Action Games"

I didn't mind 30fps for Demon's Souls or Dark Souls on PS3 and it was a weird experience playing Dark Souls II on my PC in 60fps after both of them. What he should have said is that their games work well in 30fps, though. You can't even compare the pace of a Souls title to a Platinum one, but they're both action games. That, or just shut up altogether.

PLAYERESSENCE : Bayonetta 1+2 First Print Edition - European Unboxing

I got my first print edition today as well. ;) So glad I managed to nab a pre-order last week, it might have actually been from someone who cancelled because the store got more of the cheaper regular editions that day. Here's a crappy 3DS screenshot as proof. :P http://i.imgur.com/FiSLeBB.jpg

PLAYERESSENCE : Nintendo World Store is Hosting age Restricted Bayonetta 2 Launch Event, Bayonetta will be There in

I wonder if the age restriction is because of game footage being shown or playable there or if it's because of Bayonetta herself appearing. ;) I know you guys will probably hate me for saying this, but my online retailer here in Austria got a few more Bayonetta 2 First Print Editions today and I managed to snag one just in time. :D

PLAYERESSENCE : Sakurai Discusses "Clone" Characters in Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS

Marth's sword is the most powerful at the very end (the tip), meaning you want to hit people while being as far away as possible to make that part of the sword connect to cause much more damage/knockback. Meanwhile, Lucina doesn't have that because her sword has the same balanced power no matter how it connects. Hope this explanation is understandable.

Marth and Lucina are surprisingly different. If you want to be a great Marth player, you have to play with his unique trait (tip of the blade is best) in mind and take full advantage of it. Lucina has a lot of similar moves, but is far easier to use because her sword is balanced overall and you don't need to constantly position yourself to get those lethal hits off like you would with Marth.

PLAYERESSENCE : #OperationPlatinum Update #1 - Pre-order Bayonetta 2

Last one is classic Kamiya. Love it. I pre-ordered the Special edition at my usual online retailer. Not that I was able to afford or order to First Print edition because I was on vacation with no internet, but they sold out of their entire stock for it in mere hours according to my mate who watched it for me. Even their stock of special editions is long gone now, you can only order UK import copies of the Special edition from them! I'm not sure about the Solus version, but the bundles seem to be in pretty high demand.

PLAYERESSENCE : Bayonetta 1 on Wii U Loads Faster, Removes Screen-tearing from PS3/Xbox 360 Version

See, this is what the original Digital Foundry article should have been. Not comparing the first game to the sequel, a completely different game. They sure couldn't resist putting a little unnecessary jab at the end, though. That seems to be a thing for any articles remotely related to Nintendo. "This is great, buuut...*mentions whatever negative thing to distract from the main, positive point*". Like sometimes when there's awesome Nintendo news, some journalists immediately bring up Nintendo's financial situation as a distraction for readers. Meanwhile, the people being all snarky about this and being like "Oh wow, a marginal improvement over a game that came out years ago on even older hardware" seem to forget that the same system has a vastly superior looking sequel on it, too... I shoud also mention that I've only played it on PS3 because that was my only option in the past. I didn't think it was too bad back then, but looking at the other two versions running side by side, it's easy to see just how much faster they are thanks to the better framerate. Hope I'll enjoy a proper version of it on the Wii U more!

PLAYERESSENCE : EDGE Magazine Hands Bayonetta 2 a Perfect Review Score of 10/10

It had a tough time with some reviewers, but among gamers, it's not rare that I've seen that people let themselves get scared off by the demo (which, in hindsight, probably hurt sales more than it helped tbh) or dropped the game before they had time to learn everything. Bayonetta has it better in that it's a simpler game in a way. Still very deep mechanics-wise, but I think few would argue that it has a far lower learning curve than The Wonderful 101 did. Nowadays, games that control and play unlike anything else on the market seem to not have an easy time because few people are left that are willing to learn how a game is played from scratch, with little hand-holding to boot.

As great as this is, I can't help being a little sad that both Bayonetta's got a 10 from Edge while The Wonderful 101 (a game I personally consider to be better than Bayonetta 1, though the sequel may well surpass it) only got a 6/10 and a more mixed reception in general. Poor, misunderstood The Wonderful 101. :/

PLAYERESSENCE : Digital Foundry's Frame-rate Analysis of Bayonetta 2 - My Analysis

5 weeks ahead of the European release? Are you sure about that? Where is the comparison for the Wii U port of Bayonetta, then? You know, the framerate comparison that would actually make sense since it's the same game. Surely they'd also have access to that if they received copies of Bayonetta 2...

It's just from a part of the game that was in a preview build they had access to. It's a really stupid comparison when you consider that and the fact that they're comparing Bayonetta 2 to the original...you know, a completely different game. The only comparison that should be made here is Bayonetta on Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U to see how good the Wii U port turned out. Not comparing an unfinished build of a sequel to the first game on completely different platforms.

PLAYERESSENCE : Digital Foundry's Frame-rate Analysis of Bayonetta 2 - My Analysis

I can't believe that this even reached comment sections of websites like Siliconera, that rarely have these kind of arguments. It continues to blow my mind that NOW all those people are crawling out of their hiding places and putting down the game, because they've been told by the almighty Digital Foundry that the framerate isn't good. Where were these experts every time we've got a new trailer in the past? Why is this "big issue" not in the plethora of previews? How come people suddenly forgot that Platinum loves going absolutely bonkers with some set pieces and boss fights at the expense of framerate? Jesus Christ... Guess the haters realised that they can't bash Bayonetta 2's gameplay, so they're going after performance despite countless hands-on reports rarely if ever bringing up that topic. Heck, just like Francis said himself, Eurogamer's own previews also barely touched the topic. The one from last month? Not a single mention of framerate or performance in general and in my honest opinion, that's how it should be if the game is still perfectly playable. This topic is being done to death and I'm tired of hearing about it.
