Single Black Male : Double Standards in Relationships: The 90-Day Sex Rule

"I've gone without sex specific to one woman for months, sometimes years. But, I did not go without sex". Is that because you felt she was worth more (meaning exploring who she was and what she stood for) before bringing sex into the equation? How did that work out for you (rhetorical). I'm not sure if i'm confusing the two sentences { unless we're in a committed relationship} maybe the next sentence was not meant to support the initial thought. For some reason this just jumped out at me (no rhyme or reason, I just chose to comment here) but the entire post was overall thought provoking as well as the comments section. Although the overall post was about the double standards, I took away this. I'm totally against this 90 day rule thing when thinking about a committed relationship (I know, im selfish) because I'd hate to get to know a man, love his character, qualities and he passes the deal beakers mark...to find out we aren't sexually compatible. THE KID loooooooves to be sex'ed up :) Speaking from personal experience, loving a man who couldn't satisfy me...is no bueno. So I suppose my inquiry is more of a how do you wait on someone for 90 days and then walk away if the sex is bad? More so, why get into a relationship without knowing if the compatibility is there in the first place? Not picking on you WIM, I just wonder about these things and you brought it up (or at least that's how I interpreted you statement)

Single Black Male : Do men respect abstinent women?

"Of course, the risk there is that a man might tie it down JUST to get in the jeans but that's another issue". Now isn't that the truth....

@social media blackout - Tris, I've been labeled as a "suspected" cheater due to the fact that I dont accept friend request on facebook from suitors (truth be told, serious or otherwise) dudes favorite sayings are: You must have a lot to hide. {FOH} I just dont have a need for facebook validation if it was ever to become serious. No, the fact that I dont tweet has me allegedly suspicious as well. If this is what social media entails...Im best to stay in the lane im already in for real for real! Lol

Single Black Male : Hip Hop Is for Lovers: Reflections on Being Kanye West’s “Perfect B*tch”

Oh Mr. Larry! I loooooooove it. I said that in rhetoric, but I do appreciate your reply. I guess what I failed to type was I bet it would be a problem for yeezy if some man referred to his mother in this manner (I know its not what I wrote, but its definitely what I was thinking) I only assume it would be a whole other ball game for Donda West to be referred to as someones bad b*tch. We could ALL go in circles about theory, but in practice it most often doesnt equate to whats good for the goose...yadda yadda yah!

Im a walking contridiction (still, at my age) I tend to see the balance in things. Too much of anything is never good for me, same as not enough. In my younger years, being a bad b*tch was a compliment...today not so much. Simply because there are so many more things I AM or will BECOME. This was a great read. I can clearly rationalize it from both angles. It's music...so I dont seek a deeper understanding of any artists creativity. Outside of that (meaning creativity) I suppose my mentality just doesn't allow me to judge anothers morals or values when it comes to the usage. Personally, I wish a Ninja [Ninjette] would refer to me directy as a b*tch! Indirectly, whatever floats ya boat kiddo...what I DON'T know surely won't hurt me. What I most appreciated about the post was the correlation the writer made about Mr. Wests usage (excuse me, lack there of) towards his mother. Granted his mother is not just any woman, but if he wouldn't reference her in this manner why is it okay to reference "any" woman this way. I guess this too surfaces as a thin line between love and hate...at least for me it does. The comments section is always Awesome!!!

Single Black Male : Aggressive Networking and Self-Promotion: Good Hustle or Bad Practice?

This was a great post mostly because I can identify in many ways. I've come to the conclusion (because of the world we live in) its not so much more about "what" you know but "who" you know. For me personally it was finding a happy (but realistic) medium. Beginning as a life coach I had to be able to market myself, and that meant sometimes putting it out there. I get most of my clients through word of mouth now (because my work ethic speak for what I can produce) but in the beginning no one knew what I could do until I put it out there. Its that fine line of not using someone but setting yourself up in a position to be able to execute. Great read, thanks Slim boggy!

I think he was looking for a reaction, but now I have new insight. Thanks Streetz How do the men react? I have seen So and So DO NOT ANSWER roughly 13 times in the past 60 days.
I keep swearing that I am going to stop this internet dating. No really!!! [insert sarcasm now] But...it just keeps sucking me in from the hours of 9am - 5pm :-) This very thing happened to me about two months ago. I was enjoying a casual daily convo with said gentleman during the above hours and after he passed (with flying colors) my very thorough screening process we agreed to exchange numbers. He sent a MMS to prove his identity was that of said gentleman I had been conversing with via popular dating site. So a couple of days into our telephone conversations when a new picture mail was delivered I was like, "oh" said gentleman is a photo enthusiast (thinking: he's so conceited)...lets see what we have here, this fool decided it would be a "Great" idea to send me his man parts via MMS. Oh My! While it was healthy and extensive...this is a for sure No Bueno, I dont know you like dat misterrrrrr. Needless to say he has been archived and branded So and So DO NOT ANSWER and now I know my ingenious "Process" isn't so fool proof after-all *shrugs*. Stop laughing. I was horrified. But not enough not to be back on during said hours.

Well then you know we experience a minimal amount of New York phuckery on the green line (shorter cars) I cant really say I see too much craziness going down on our line. The blue and orange line is where it really goes down! I have to tell you: Im quite dissapointed that you led me astray (post pic). I thought we were about to go HAM about these subway performances; which seems to be the new fad in employment here during NYC economic hardship(s)..I wont exaggerate and say crisis. While young boys are doing acrobatic moves over my head (I sit thinking) I wish someone would put a bug in these kids ear that what they are doing is counterproductive. They should take their hustle to the streets of Rockafella and Def Jam headquarters so they can be discovered...what's the likelihood that a talent scout is going to be riding the train at the hours they are performing. I'm sorry I know that every dollar counts, but they' re killing me sofly with these backward hustles. Lastly, Im also disgusted with your "About Me" *ctfu*

Don't get it twisted Mr.SD...I'm born and reared in Brooklyn. It still behooves me the amount of phuckery I see in a New York minute! From the angry and loud mouthed black females [like shut up we see you, and your still not important] to the ignorant and trashy black males [please find some class and show a lil decorum]. Im not bashing my race, it just bothers me that some of us think this behavior is acceptable. I know we are talking about a different subject overall but the aforementioned is what hurt my heart about my fellow new yorkers of color. I been over (as you put it) "typical" NY non-sense.
