Magic is not the type of social interaction that I was referring too. It is a very different social interaction compared to my experiences with warhammer, just the way people interact seemed more friendly and fun than I experienced in Magic tournaments.
But once again, just to make it clear to you. I am talking about MY experiences and why I support a certain type of play.

Edit: I also said that I dont do it JUST for the social aspect, I like some competition as well. However I said for myself(once again just talking about me) that I like the level of competition combined with the more social aspects. I like that warhammer requires a certain level of social interaction where you cant get away with a lot of the things you can (in say Magic)

All I said was what I was looking for and why I don't mind softscores, and they in fact might help what I want from the game.
I was not arguing that you were wrong either yet for some reason you took it that way. I left that comment as an afterthought, it is why I didnt like warmachine very much. Warhammer has just enough of that competativeness from a recreational activity without it being too much for my personal preference. I said that many times it was my personal preference.

For me I don't compare it to other systems that I am not going to play, there is no point as they are not realistic for me. Rather I simply decide if it is worth the amount of money that I am spending. IF it isn't then I don't, if it is then I do.
I have tried warmachine and just did not like it, the amount of straight knowledge you have to have for EVERY model and combo just was not worth the effort to me. With warhammer I can kind of look at their army list and have an idea of how it is going to function. But that is just me.
Now I am not talking like I actually have money, I was going to have to put off buying the chaos book for a month or two to save up enough if I hadn't taken second in a tournament and gotten enough store credit. Even with next to no money I still don't have a problem with the prices because I believe that I am getting 50 dollars worth of use out of what I am buying. Short of maybe 1-2 video games a year on average there are none that I feel like I would get more value out of than a codex.
But once again this is a different outlook on prices. I look at something and decide if it is worth the price to me, rather then decide what I think the price should be and then decide.

Although this is minor one thing I was noticing was that with the height of the center pieces and that they were only open on 1-2 sides you could effectively box someone out for at least 1-2 turns from the central objective just by placing your guys on the inside of the wall. Also it gave a strong advantage to one side over the other.
