Yes, yes and a big fat YES. I can relate to this! Honestly, your idea of scanning them is better than what I do. I give them each a box to save their artwork and important in every school year and then go through it from time-to-time determining which papers accidentally got in the mix. They do a lot less artwork nowadays than they did when they were in preschool though, so that helps! If I throw anything out though... complete meltdown :)
