Lost Daughters : Questions People Ask an Out-of-the-Fog Christian Adoptee

Love it!!! As someone who is actually considering becoming a parent through adoption, your posts have been extremely helpful to my husband and me as far as "what not to do" if this is something we do pursue....

http://www.deannashrodes.net : I Want to Change This About Me

LOL!! It's kind of like, "Why can't everyone in the world be more like me?" Lord help us all if that happens!! Because then we'd have an entire world of people being impatient with everyone else for having the exact same weaknesses...and no one strong in those same areas to pick up the slack :). My recent post Why the term “Christian conservative” should be retired

Oh, but there's a Part 2 now...that one's probably outdated at this point, but I have confidence that they're busy with a Volume 3. Justin Bieber, BEWARE!!!!!

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Loving or hating Glee.

I'm a Gleek. My husband and I DVR it each Tuesday night, and watching it together is a highlight of our week. I kind of made a rhyme!!! I was nervous about the "Grilled Cheesus" episode, but I thought the topic of religion was tastefully done.

To be fair, DC Talk did a cover of it in the mid-90s. Larry Norman's version was creepier, though!

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Not knowing how to tell someone their favorite book didn't completely change your life too.

Changed my life: Emotionally [and somewhat theologically!] - "Tired of Trying to Measure Up" by Jeff Vanvonderen Physically: The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno [not even kidding!!!] Authors whose books I read and who I now want to have lunch with because they're that stinkin' awesome: *Anne Lamott *Shane Claiborne *Karen Kingsbury [yeah, she doesn't quite fit in with the other two, but I love me some fluffy Christian fiction sometimes, and she delivers!!] *Madeline L'Engle [when I get to heaven, obviously!] Trendy Christian books I don't/didn't really get: *The Prayer of Jabez [I tried...really, I did!] *Wild at Heart [absolutely NOTHING biblical as far as what a man is supposed to be!] and Captivating [If I have to hear myself compared to one more stupid Jane Austen movie that I will never see, I will puke!] *The Purpose-Driven Life [I started to read it, but just lost interest after the first chapter - finally just donated my copy to the Goodwill!]

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Who is the best non dead Christian writer?

Books aren't Christians - people are, so I think John Grisham is perfectly fine. I like Bodie Thoene and Michael Phillips - both write fictional novels that entertain, make you think, and cause you to learn something new - sort of like Sesame Street for Christian adults!!

As a children's pastor, I will respectfully disagree with you when you say there is not "real worship" going on in kids' church. Please visit a children's church service [from beginning to end - don't just pop in and out!] and see for yourself so that you can make an informed decision.

I read Blue Like Jazz and Take Three [inspirational fiction - don't judge me!!!] simultaneously. And the first book in the Vampire Diaries series. Yes, my literary interests are diverse, and, since I never want to be without a book, I am usually reading several at a time.
