everything you just responded with was purely fan explanation and not stated within the show itself, if you want to come up with your own theories be my guest but don't state them as fact.
"They're just elements that exceed your understanding" T_o It's a kids show! It's not a deep philosophical dive into the workings of relationships that adults can ponder upon. it's meant to be taken as you see it (children are not going to sit back and ponder the meaning of the episode).

objection! The power to the table comes from the tree of harmony that resided in the everfree forest, a place were nothing can be controlled though normal magical pony methods.
^-o she was in denial for in her head no friendship could have that kind of impact on the world.
As starlight said herself: "He moved on and I didn't" She admitted she had a problem but wasn't willing to fix it.
She was willing to force all the ponies in equestria to loose there marks just so she wouldn't have to loose anyone to there life goal or dreams.

T-o That brings up a better questing: how did starlight know twilight was going to be in giving a speech and if that was the first time she learned about rainboom how did she hatch a plan to use the timetravling table so fast. How did she even know about the table? How could she have known it was connect to equestria?
why would it matter if the table was connected to equestria if you are timetravling?
It wan't a matter of starlight didn't know it was a matter of starlight didn't care if everyone died in a war or was destroyed by monsters, she despised the idea of ponies getting there marks together at the same time so much she was willing to let every other pony suffer.
In her head when ponies get there marks they could no longer be friends which is why the idea of ponies with such different marks disgusted her.
XD I like to think the Tree of harmony went: "sorry ponies can't have you messing up the harmony of my world *time bubble*."

Without the main 6 the elements of harmony were never awoken meaning nightmare moon never reverted to Luna.

on that point why did all the animals just walk away from fluttershy as if they just became randomly bored?
why didn't rarity's horn not throw her over the cliff finding the gems (she was dragged there by her own magic).
why does this episode try to make out the starlight is more magical the starswirl? *She is way too over powered for a unicorn who doesn't have alicorn magic.*
why did the flim flam brothers crate a huge factory and destroy all the trees? The flimflam brother only wanted to scam people out of there money not create a huge industrial factory that would destroy the world and destroy any profit they could make.
starlight hates mark because her friend saved her and then ignored her for no reason and then was sent to magical school were she or he never thought to go looking for each other.......what?
Why didn't she make a friend who had a cutie mark, that way she wouldn't have to worry that the new friend would be taken away by the mark?
Y_Y here entire backstory has more holes then the plot.
