Yes, I personally think SlideIT is better than Swype. It's not as visually appealing, but that will probably change once it gets theme support.

I still get the same log-in error. Haven't made up my mind regarding the new look yet, but at least it's better than the old design. Perhaps we need an updated version of the Market on our phones before we can push apps to them? Or maybe it'll just take a few hours before Google gets the new Market website up and running properly.

Install ROM Manager from the Market and use the app to flash ClockworkMod recovery. Then use ROM Manager to boot into recovery mode. From there, turn off signature verification and select the "flash ZIP from SD card" option to install the new ROM.
