I might be wrong but I don't think Chris, Keith or Rachel had anybody on the Mall. And I think they're okay with that.

I can't wait to see what entertainment you tinfoil-hat-wearing freaks of flyover states conjure up next, Tucoie. Things have been so boring lately. I plan to kick back in my medicated stupor, worship Satan, fornicate with gay goats, get fat on your tax dollars because I can't get my lazy ass out of bed and enjoy it, whatever it is. Don't let me down, goddammit.

I do what I can to bring our two people closer together. ;) I do think if you take the time you'll find that most leftists are actually pretty nice people who also love their country and would be happy to have a polite conversation with you about beliefs and how we, left and right, arrive at an understanding. It just seems as if everyone would rather yell and call names. Nothing will ever get done that way and I fear that only violence is at the end of that path.

I'm 41, never finished college, been on my own in the "real world" since I was 17, and an Army vet who served during the Gulf War. Maddow, Olbermann, and Matthews effectively channel my outrage at the lies being pushed by some of the Right's brightest stars. If you want those three to go away, ask Beck, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Palin, and the rest of your Death Panelist politicians, to start telling the truth. There will still be plenty to disagree about.

With respect, I think you're the one who has been brainwashed into believing whatever you think you know about 'leftist drones'. You do not know me but I bet I am not so different from you aside from my politics. I do blame Mr. Bush for the current state of our economy due to a lack of regulatory enforcement of the financial markets and I think the Iraq war was irresponsible and costly in lives and cash, but I don't think my world is pathetic. In fact, I rather like living here. What makes me upset is that talk like yours inflames people and keeps us from working together.

I'm with you SmedleyB. This was a stupid, pointless war that killed too many people (one would have been too many) on both sides, came damn near to breaking our bank, and brought terrorism to Iraq. The only reason most people on this board supported it is because the 'leftists' were against it. These same people opposed the war in Kosovo, not because it was wrong, but because a Democrat started it.

Big Government : Why Are We Discussing Racism?

That's just crazy. And sad. Do you really think us peace-loving liberals are planning a putsch? You might need more sunshine and to actually talk to a liberal once in a while. Matter of fact, most of y'all could use the same thing. You're the scardiest bunch of people I've seen since Nam. In fact, you're probably their kids. The USA is not going to hell in a handbasket, at least not because of liberals, no matter what the RWM tells you. We, as a country, all of us, are changing and adapting to the times. All your hand-wringing, sand-headed posturing isn't going to stop change. Conservatism ALWAYS loses but our country's still here. Progressivism is about ensuring that as many people as possible have a shot at the American Dream. Conservatism is about keeping that dream in the hands of those who already have it, or think they do, while denying it to those who don't have it yet because they think one person's gain is another's loss. It doesn't work that way. The have-nots ALWAYS acquire it eventually, with the sole exception of the Native Americans (and let's hear it from the Indian-haters) but the already-hads keep it too. I can't think of a single instance of one group being harmed from an expansion of wealth and an enumeration of rights.

"Obama's Plan -- White Slavery." "Obama -- What you talkin about Willis! The pictures above can't be denied. So I ask again, is it okay that racists should be allowed to remain in the Tea Party?

Thank you, unpronounceable name. I forgot how I happened upon this forum, but I was saddened by so many negative opinions of where this country is going, and I was hoping to get into a good debate with some people who were able to respond in kind. I don't care that you don't agree with my positions but there is no reason to call names and worse. You may not change my mind and I'm sure I won't change yours but if we only talk to our own side, we'll only sink deeper into paranoia about the other.

Hear! HEAR! Yes, wake up....PLEASE. We need committed people like you, Ima, to really take this country back. It's not being subverted by Marxism, it's being sold by Rupert Murdoch, idea by idea.

I'd like to extend and qualify my remarks above. I did indeed use the phrase 'income equality'. That was a bad choice of words and is not what I'm advocating. I don't expect that everyone in the nation should be paid the same thing regardless of their talents or ambition or ability. I do think that many of the poor, white and black, are much poorer than they should be. I also believe that corporate officers are laughing at all of us (but mostly you, because you're big business' staunchest defenders regardless of how many dodgy scandals they're involved in) because we continue to buy their crappy Chinese-made color TVs. I would love to see that income gap narrowed, and I'm not ashamed of that.

Robert, you are also part of the 'Collective'. You can't cherry pick which rights you'd like to enjoy and which are infringements. It's just not realistic to let everyone do everything they want because it will inevitably infringe on someone else's pursuit of happiness.

Actually, I don't think YOU are paying attention. The story is not that this woman is racist, it's that the story she told in that video is how she overcame her racist feelings and helped the white farmer to succeed. That same white farmer is now one of her biggest supporters in this ugly affair. I'd like to know if you think that Breitbart and FOX were in the right here. If so, who was in the wrong? Was anyone?
