A man can survive Islam. But can a man survive the judgment of God? "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

John 3:1-21
English Standard Version (ESV)
You Must Be Born Again

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

For God So Loved the World

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

I look at it this way, He told that man to sell all. Why? Because He does not wish any to be so attached to their wealth that they are unable to actually sell all IF He commanded them to sell all. Ask yourself: "If Jesus told me to sell all, would I obey?" The answer will tell you how attached you are to your bank account and possessions.

I'm not saying we don't have a democracy.(Or does it have us at this point?) But I am saying it will one day become something else altogether.

Revelation 11:15 The seventh angel then blew [his] trumpet, and there were mighty voices in heaven, shouting, The dominion (kingdom, sovereignty, rule) of the world has now come into the possession and become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (the Messiah), and He shall reign forever and ever (for the eternities of the eternities)! [Amplified Bible]

No I am not a Mormon. But I would like to know what is unbiblical in what I have said about Jesus.

P&A, perhaps you will now take a moment to state the Gospel for us? The "Biblical message of Jesus of Nazareth" that you reference above? I would sincerely be interested and edified were your words to correct any errors I may suffer.

John, being maligned for my loyalties is a joy!

I agree. And God's Kingdom is not a democracy! Nor is it a tyranny! It is a Kingdom whose King is flawlessly perfect and Holy and whose Love is the same! O give thanks unto the Lord for He is GOOD and His mercy endureth forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy!

Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

I am not a Mormon. I do not see Mormons as believing in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If they KNEW Jesus, they would drop the book of Mormon like a hot piece of brimstone and flee from that organization.

Very true, she gave everything she had! I want to be able someday to say the same, and fear too many of us are scandalized by her example. I see your point entirely. But what is also important is that the christian of means use their wealth to win souls. Jesus wants everyone to be with Him in heaven. If my stinginess so offends one that he or she curse God then have I used my wealth as God used His? Father sent His most valued "possession" His Son Jesus who obediently laid aside the riches of His heavenly Kingdom, came to earth in mortal flesh as a handyman's son and at 30 years old gave all in obedience, becoming an itinerant preaches supported by women, and went without defending Himself to the cross. God's grace is called God's Riches At Christ's Expense.

Our Father "used" His wealth, Jesus, to win our souls for His Kingdom of Heaven!

2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Perhaps the problem is that the church and nation so enriched has actually contained the blessing God intended for them to share? Certainly wealth is envied and there are many who think it unfair that any rich man retain his/her riches. But I don't advocate that the rich succumb to theft.

It is said that a priest in the middle ages once commented after accounting the church treasury, "Well, it can no longer be said: 'silver and gold I have none! " To which the treasurer replied, "Yes, but can it now be said, "such as I have give I thee, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!"

I heartily recommend Luke Chapter16 for your evening devotions.
