The cover of this book drew me in and then I read the premise and was even more intrigued. I am originally from India and am well-aware of practices such as gender selection and female feticide. In fact, gender selection tests AKA ultrasounds are banned in India.

I enjoy books told from alternating perspectives and it's interesting that Sudasa's is in verse while Kiran's is in prose. Verse is a format I've never tried but I'd like to.

Thanks for your review.

I've been wanting to read one of Echol's books. This series sounds good and I like that they can be read as stand-alones. Now I'm curious about Sawyer. The name "Sawyer" also reminds me of one of my favorite characters in the TV series LOST.

I first saw this book on a blog post and it's been on my Goodreads TBR list for a long time.

When I'm reading a great book, I totally don't mind waiting and/or delays. Rather I welcome them. What I resent are interruptions in my reading. In the past, I've read several books that stay in my mind after finishing them. These are the ones that, when I have to put them down, I'm thinking about them and pick them up any chance I get. Books like Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight and Creep by Jennifer Hillier fit in this category.

Thanks for the great review. Now I am even more eager to read it.

My favorite book of 2014 was Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight. I loved it b/c of the storyline, the alternating viewpoints, trendy use of social media within the prose, and the plot twists.

Thanks :)

I LOVE chicken salad with nuts. I've tried it with cranberries but the mango sounds delicious too.
