You're hilarimouse! The worst is when your mouth just keeps going and your brain is saying 'nooooo! That's not it!' Happened to me in a job interview the other day. I was channelling Offspring's Nina Proudman. VERY AWKWARD.

HARK yes! They absolutely should. A sadly underused word. Let's bring it back!! Hilarious. Go hard or go home. Well - you can go home too but go hard first. Nice work on the 2kgs. Also, I learnt something new today. They crumb sausages? I didn't know that was a thing. I reckon sub in the coke zero. It's a good treat. Sub out the others. Chemical schmemicals.

Melissa, I'm totally with you here. To my mind, the story is, honestly, about an athlete (high-profile, cocksure, arrogant), and his beautiful young girlfriend, with the disability a footnote. Any athlete, able-bodied or disabled, would have been high-profile in such circumstances, and not because it's a fall from grace, and from our expectations. He truly HAS overcome - in that we see him not as a 'man with a disability', but an athlete - strong, arrogant, confident and good-looking. Throwing back on that label marginilises the full criminal import of what's happened. He's got a profile, as did she, and it's a crime and a tragedy for poor Reeva. If it was a couple in our Aussie swim team, one shooting the other, the story would be equally huge. His disability? It's just not relevant here.

Damn right she won everyone's hearts at the Bloggers' drinks - she is just EDIBLE. I love your biggest's comments to her - surely the most gorgeous part of the second bub is seeing the beautiful interaction develop between siblings - the special bond they develop.

I love this Melissa. If only I'd had the creativity or energy to turn my day around yesterday... It's these little moments that stick. Ridiculous but lovely.

Thank you thank you for this post. I have a sparkly new kindle and waste hours deciding what to buy. I personally LOVED Handmaid's tale - I love Margaret Atwood in general but this is my favourite of hers. And Georgette Heyer - yes yes yes! I shall be checking out Nora Ephron as my very next read though - was so very sad to hear about her this year. A wonderful woman. And much better than me aspiring to be like Pats from Ab Fab when I grow up xx

Trish - that sounds absolutely heavenly, and more than well-deserved. I'm always talking about doing the trapeze things or other crazy stuff on offer, but find that I barely have time to just sit and breathe. Vouchers like this are the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Can you at least send me a puppy picture? Come on. They're a little bit cute! (Your kids I mean, not puppies. Well - them too.)
