Like A Warm Cup of Coffee : The Chore System that Works for Our Babes (So Far)

We use those! They are such a God-send! I made a set for their personal responsibilities before breakfast and a set for chores for later in the day. They got to the point where they didn't even need the packs. I need to introduce them to the new weekly chores packs so I am going to show my boys the video for a little bit of refreshed inspiration. ;)

inprogress : Oh That "One Word" Thing

I will definitely be praying for you guys. I can totally relate cuz we've been in transition, too. We know what's going on, though (mostly), we just aren't at liberty to say yet. But I understand what it's like. It feels so intense.

In The Name Of Love : how to lose friends...

This is awesome. It's so easy to forget to be selfless since selfishness is so ingrained in us. I just have one thing to add: If you're embarrassed by your friend because you don't think he's cool enough, you're not being a friend you're being prideful.

inprogress : A question for lead worshipers and the congregation

Sometimes a heart issue is involved. For me I am very outgoing and I used to have a mindset (heart issue) that I was somebody special because I was a worship leader, so my interactions with the congregation turned into something that fed that pride. (See how the devil likes to defile everything?) Then after I allowed God to start purging my heart issues, I saw that time of interacting with others as it's not about me. We have rehearsal & prayer just before service, so we aren't to leave the stage, but after church I'm one of the last to leave so I can talk to people. Those people who are making a bee-line for the door are often stopped by me "just wanting to say hello, how are you, give you a smile and wish you a great week," and by the time I leave for home i'm feeling on top of the world because I know that love spilled out of me and blessed someone. [For deeper connections I am involved in small groups, interact on FB, volunteer in other ministries, etc.] I don't know if that helped anybody, but there you go. Ha! (hope that made sense, it's been a long day...)

No pressure or anything! I've been slowly building relationships on twitter one by one rather than following hoards of people with little to no real connecting. I am wondering, however, if you would recommend one follow dozens or even hundreds at once?

Michael Hyatt Blog : Why Plan B Is Often Your Greatest Opportunity as a Leader

I've discovered numerous lessons can be learned from even mini-crises in day to day living which will help equip us for a major crisis if we are willing to pay attention. "Little" things such as the teacher for the Children's Church class couldn't come at the last minute and you are left to improvise the whole lesson. Or your equipment is fouling up and it's affecting the worship service. I've observed the difference when a leader has responded with anger or discouragement and I decided I didn't want a negative reputation with my team. I've learned a leader's attitude towards any situation will greatly affect the atmosphere and cause others to respond in a healthier way. I've learned not to complain about continual frustrating circumstances. It has been great to teach my kids these same principles. It's true that children will cry over spilled milk, and I start with even petty things such as that to reproduce character in them. God said those who are faithful in little will be faithful in much (Luke 16:10).
