As always, this is a terrific post, Bonnie! And thank you for all your help when I had a guest post! I think it went really well - but much better with your input! :)

Just out of curiosity, why would we not want to post an article from an SEO company? Because they are not in it to build up a fellow blogger, or would there be a downside to the links they would provide? If it is quality content... what would the downside be?

I so wish i had had the nerve to require a reciprocal link!

Under the Editing policies would that cover omitting something that was not in the spirit of your blog, or adding something that was? Or is that going to far?

How do you word that a submission may not be accepted? And please encourage other bloggers who request submissions to at least give a response if they decline. To never give a polite No, thanks just isn't polite.

I'll definitely try breaking the longer posts into more frequent, shorter posts. But the funny thing is that the 2 times I have experimented with making my blog much more personal, my traffic and clicks and page views have gone way down... Not so sure anyone else shares your incredibly kind thoughts of me! :)

Hi Bonnie - These are terrific tips! I think I am good at my weekly schedule of every Tuesday, and i say that at the end of each post, but I also post a few in between, and those are unscheduled. Is this too iffy? I have trouble I think making the post personable, but my 2 attempts to make it about me seemed to tank my traffic! I don't see my About Me page getting many clicks... And I think my posts go long - maybe I try to cover too much in one article, when it might be better to break up the information into more posts?
