When I saw the cover of this book a few months ago I had to find out more about the book. It sounds like a really good book, Laura. I like that it is written in a time when Christianity and the hearth spirits were still side-by-side in people's minds. Good review!

I agree with Lark! It's a great review, Stephanie, and I like to read about Scotland and want to visit. I also tend to romanticize the island life. It sounds like this book doesn't do that at all...LOL. It does sound bleak, but also like a good book.

I have so many of the same shows as you do! I forgot Farscape which is such a good show and one I keep meaning to go back and watch again. I'm going to check out the shows I haven't watched! Good list!

I've read some of the Hugo and Nebula winners from past years, but not that many. I heard about purchasing the LonCon3 Membership earlier this week. Great to get all the books--especially the Wheel of Time series which I haven't read. I've also wanted to buy Ancillary Justice for awhile, but the price is so high...hmmm...maybe a good time to buy a membership (since I need more books to read. :)

I'm glad you're over your reading slump. That's no fun. I bought the last five or six books of the Sookie Stackhouse series this week on Audible. I've read a couple of them, but it's been awhile so I'm looking forward to finishing up the series by listening to it. I hope you have a great reading week!
