This is one Shakespeare play that I never got around to reading (there are several despite the fact that I did study Shakespeare in college -- there are just so many plays to read!). I have to say although I'm not really into the blood and gore, I am intrigued by your review.
Amazing review. I haven't really delved into McCarthy's work but know that I need to do so. I'm especially interested in adding McCarthy to a class I'm hoping to develop about human's relationship with nature -- and the scene the you wrote about here is exactly the kind of thinking I want to see my students doing!
This book sounds great. I love the idea of reading about a bookstore.
I'm a fan of the pretty dress too. I have always wanted a reason to wear a super fancy all out dress like those featured on the covers you had in your post. It's like a little girl fantasy that never became a reality. But also, I think that these cover resonate with me because I know that the story will somehow be historically grounded and I just love historical fiction.
