Oh yes, I am all to familiar with that $100 cover charge at Target. The only way I have found to beat it is for my baby to start screaming at the top of her lungs, forcing me to get out of the store as quickly as possible. Of course, when that happens, I inevitably forget the one thing I actually needed to get, and so I will find myself back at Target, spending twice as much as I originally intended.

Good for you for listening to your intuition! You are right- he would have likely torn his stitches and started hemorrhaging, and that would be a nightmare. I too have written about the importance of listening to your instincts- every parent needs to listen to that little voice in their head that tells them when something isn't right and then speak up- you have to be an advocate for your child, which you clearly are. I hope your little guy is feeling better soon.
