I have Winter on my list, too, and I need to know how the series ends!! I should just hurry up and order the book but I've been stalling. I need to read The Darkest Parts of the Forest - I just finished The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, and I can't wait to read more of Holly Black's books :D And A Court of Thorns and Roses! Oh, I hope you love it! Oooh, and Ink and Bone and The Heart of Betrayal, too! Hope you love all these, Val!

Surgery?!? Oh my gosh, Val! *sends loads of virtual hugs* I've been AWOL from blogging for far too long, I had no idea! You'll be okay! Promise :) I know those words aren't the most comforting, but you really will be. I LOVE the book and cheese pairing idea, btw! I can't wait to read those posts, and ooohh I've never heard of Creative Market before! Will definitely check it out :D

Crown of Midnight!! Can't wait to see what you think of it, and I hope you love it :D Good luck with the readathon! I wasn't expecting to be at home this weekend so I didn't want to risk signing up :( Hopefully next time it'll work out! Enjoy your new reads :)

10 years ago @ The Innocent Smiley - Do Endings Mean A Lot ... · 1 reply · +1 points

Endings have a HUGE impact on my overall opinions of a book or series. The absolute worst thing that can happen is an ending that doesn't make sense. Most of the books I've been reading lately are part of a series or trilogy, and if the last book sucks, it changes my opinion about the series as a whole. The worst ending I've ever read was the conclusion to the Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. I'm still not okay with it! And sometimes, it's the epilogue that completely ruins a book. And just when you mention the Iron Fey series, it reminded me of another thing that bothers me: when the titles and covers in a series gives the ending away! Aargghh! So annoying! Great topic, Val, and have a fab weekend :)

Oh wow, so many amazing books! I can't wait to read A Darker Shade of Magic and I really need to continue on with The Raven Cycle soon. And Truthwitch! So glad you loved it, can't wait until it's released next year :D Great picks, Val!

Hahahaha, oh I love this review! Holy crap, it sounds, erm, well, crap. The organ black market thing had me convinced I needed to read this book, but now, I think I'll be avoiding it. You're not the first I've seen have issues with it, so yep, decision made, AVOIDING! Hope your next read is amazing :D

Ahhh!! Oh my gosh, thanks so much for tagging me, Val!!
I completely agree with you about owning all Marissa Meyer's book. I bought Fairest recently, and can't WAIT to start reading it :) I'm trying to keep away from it for a while though... cut down on the wait time until Winter's release (well, that's my PLAN... it probably won't work!)
I haven't read Sleepaway Girls, but I'm kinda curious about Ashely now! What made her hateable!? I need to know!! And YAY for The Kiss of Deception and Throne of Glass! I loved both of those books so much :D I can't wait to read Queen of Shadows and The Heart of Betrayal, hopefully both will be FABULOUS! Awesome post, Val!

Cover changes mid-series annoy me so much! The Lux series was the absolute WORST! I can (kind of) understand and accept a cover change after the first book in a series... but for the last one?! NOPE! Not happening. I love matching book covers, and every time I see my Lux books on my shelves, my eye starts to twitch and I get really annoyed, LOL! Awesome post!
