WordPress blog at kevinkeigley.com : Bus Stop

The other kids and I got into pine cone fights (I grew up in Georgia). Once a pine cone hit my face just below my left eye, transferring some kind of weird virus into my bloodstream. My face swelled to 3 times its normal size (that's something - I was already a chunky kid) and oozed pus for 2 weeks. Awesome.

Maurilio Amorim : To Iron or Not to Iron? The Rise of the Wrinkled Shirt

I love the rumpled look. I'm all about comfort and starch bugs me. Even a shirt ironed with no starch is gonna look rumpled in a few hours anyway. Then it looks worse than not being ironed at all. I guess I'm kinda on the fence between being a metrosexual and a hobosexual. Yeah I know that's a pretty wide fence, but I've been practicing my stretches at the gym. I can do it.

Maurilio Amorim : How Men Should Wear a Scarf

We've had a worship leader off-and-on over the past 6 months who we've labeled "Scarf Boy." The look is not any of those described above, it's I guess kind of grunge. It is a long one and usually reaches the floor. One time he had it wrapped around his ponytail in back, then over the shoulders and tucked into his pointy boots. Another time he wore it wrapped once around his waist, with the ends coming up under his armpits and around his shoulders and then tucked into the front of the v-neck he was wearing. You know if I had pics I would post.

Maurilio Amorim : Photoshop My Life

Maurilio - this is a topic that I have become pretty passionate about over the last year. God's been revealing a lot of stuff to me about the way I've been living my life (not always easy to grapple with) and the spotlight seems to be on the concept of living an authentic life. He's showing me that my pride has kept me from being who I really am, and more importantly I've not been living as the person God designed me to be. That's really the purpose of my blog - to just lay it out there, "this is who I am." Yeah, some may be a bit TMI (you've read enough of my stuff to know this!), but what I write about really represents the real me. I'm quirky, weird, insecure, unsure of myself...but willing to finally not take myself so seriously. There's so much freedom in this. And I think it resonnates with others who struggle with the same things. I wrote an early post that really, for me, sums up these thoughts, "Dropping the Mask": http://bit.ly/bSlhk9 I think it echoes a lot of what you wrote here. Thanks for the continued challenges in your blog!

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Shameless Saturday!

My blog is http://jonmalstrom.com and I call it "Authentic Ramblings." I write mostly about humorous sitiuations that I observe around me, and I try to make fun of myself so that I don't take myself too seriously. Life is too short for that! Occasionally I'll write a serious one about my journey as a Christian and what God is teaching me along the way. In all of it, I really try to be my authentic self by dropping the mask of "image maintenance." Thanks for the opportunity for the shameless plug, Jon.

Maurilio Amorim : How Good Should You Smell at Work?

In my opinion, those who wear cologne or perfume are trying to disguise a much bigger problem. Unless you have that medical condition where you sweat uncontrollably from every gland or orifice of your body, please just spend a little bit more time scrubbing in the shower before coming in to the office. I don't even mind if you use scented soaps - that at least is designed to productively REMOVE the offending layer of stink on the skin rather than just slapping a smelly costume on it.

Maurilio Amorim : You're Stuck. Now What?

As Amy said, this must be a theme. I wrote a blog post Tuesday about being stuck, in career and in following my dreams. So much of my "stuckness" comes from comparing myself to others and never feeling like I can live up to a warped perception of success.
