My dad is a veteran, so I saw first hand how much he sacrificed to protect our country. Maybe I'll get him this book for Father's Day.

Hope you’re having fun with the A to Z challenge,
Jocelyn

I'm pretty sure I would be terrible at world building, especially because I'd get so caught up in thinking about all the details that I'd never get any writing done. That's why I write contemporary stories. :-)

That is an awesome cover. I also like the bluish in the hair that gives it a sense of 'other'.

Yep, I totally get that feeling. At this point I've lost track of how many times I've rewritten my opening chapter, but each time I read it I find something to make it stronger. Good luck on getting to the point where you feel satisfied even if you don't feel done.

I'm right there with you about not meeting my goals and then disappearing for stretches at a time. Hopefully we'll both meet our goals this time! I'm planning to do NaNo this year, too. After doing it four years in a row, I took a few years off, so I imagine it will be a shock to my system. :-)

I know exactly what you mean - procrastinating the rewrite of my novel has become my worst bad habit. I did start the daily tweet tales thing at the beginning of the year to make sure I wrote *something* every day, and I'm so happy that's become a good habit. Now if I could just figure out how to make writing my novel a daily habit, I'd be good to go. Good luck with your daily writing!

I actually work much better with deadlines, in my writing and other aspects of life. Although I'm sure it's different if you not only have a deadline, but also feel you have to measure up to previous success and expectations on top of that. I just hope it's a situation I have to face one day. :-)

Wishing you a very productive #writemotivation month,
Jocelyn

I love all kinds of genres. I'm not a fan of really graphic sex scenes, but I also get annoyed with the ones that fade to black too soon (especially ones that also include lots of violence because that just seems hypocritical). As with many things, the right balance makes all the difference.

Hope you've been enjoying the A to Z challenge!

That's really funny. I actually think my dad would get a kick out of that.

I've just been randomly picking blogs off the A-Z list, and the Dragondreamer name caught my eye, so I was so excited to come here and discover that you also went to Duke. I loved listening to The Pitchforks while I was there!

Wishing you continued success with the A to Z challenge,
Jocelyn
