Advice: sell your home before you buy another one. There is some softening in real estate right now. I’m sure you are already doing this. :) We’ve finally fled our terrible air in Northern California. Horrible!

That’s a big deal, and I’m sure it will be tough to leave the community you worked hard to build. But shorter commutes and your husband working at the same employer are big benefits. And you have the “fresh start” opportunity Gretchen Rubin talks about if you want to make some new habits/start new projects...so that’s good? You’re such a positive person, so I am sure you’ll make this a great opportunity. :)

Sooo...I totally laughed about the “foraging in a post-apocalyptic world.” I mean, the news is not great on climate change, the current administration’s policies, etc. Or, maybe Station 11 just stuck with me. In the meantime (ha!) let’s get the most out of life ;)

Thank you for this informative post. My POV is as someone who is educated about why gun control is necessary but I don't know much about the issues surrounding mental health. My recent post about why gun control should be pursued was criticized because many feel lack of mental illness help is THE source of these shootings, so I added your well-researched post to my comments.

My feeling is that a lot causes these shootings, but gun control is a low a hanging fruit which can be acted upon now while there is political will and has a good chance of being effective.

Literary character: I aspire to the wit and wisdom of Elizabeth Bennett, but sadly fall short. In real life I'm more like Natasha in War & Peace, flighty, too sensitive, dramatic makes a lot of mistakes but can be brave when needed...

What a good question. Congrats on your award :)

I love this post, so much. I hated my body for a long time after infertility treatments and loss, but about a month ago I did a huge reorg of my closet and rediscovered beautiful clothes I'd long since forgotten. Ever since, I've planned my daily Outfit and there's something about the combination of creativity and looking cute that has done wonders for my body image.

You are beautiful. I think that every time I see a photo of you on FB. And, I love your hair.

I remember your post from last year and it really made me think and try to honor those who serve our communities. Your post today reminds me to continue this effort. Thank you for sharing this.
