Stardew Valley! I'm at the end of the first year and at the point where mining and fishing aren't as annoying anymore. Something about the game is so relaxing even though I have a never-ending to do list. I also really like talking to all the villagers and giving them mayonnaise.

I started playing two days ago and I'm kind of obsessed. I'm working on saving up enough money to get the chicken coop and the furnace.

I'm in the middle of Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. The first 150 felt like a lot of setup and waiting, but things are picking up and I'm into the characters and setting.

Next up is Helen Oyeyemi's new book of short stories, What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours.

I was inspired by the comfort reading thread in last week's open thread and decided to check out Discworld. So far I've read Mort and am partway through Guards! Guards!.

I love and seek out spoilers too! Mostly on wikipedia and amazon/goodreads reviews for books. I don't like suspense and would rather just know what's going to happen.

Not quite the same, but "I sent chocolate to a hiring manager but haven’t heard back": http://www.askamanager.org/2014/04/i-sent-chocola...

I think the the cookies *might* turn out fine, but I personally wouldn't take the chance. I work in engineering and my coworkers love free food, but I'd find it weird coming from an interviewee. The power imbalance makes it different from a coworker bringing in snacks for the office. It would feel like a bribe or an attempt to impress but also like the candidate is focusing their energy on the wrong thing. It probably wouldn't disqualify an otherwise strong candidate so it could all turn out fine, but it's an unnecessary gamble.

I'm reading Negroland by Margo Jefferson. I recently finished The Story of My Teeth and American Housewife.

Salt and vinegar Cape Cod chips are my favorite snack food. So salty. So vinegary.
